What the team at Tana has built is nothing short of revolutionary. As someone who has extensively experimented with virtually every personal knowledge management tool on the market - from Evernote to Capacities to Logseq to Roam Research, Tana stands in a league of its own. Tana: The Last Productivity Tool You'll Need I have a rule when testing new software: never get too attached. Most tools overpromise, underdeliver, or simply don’t fit into my workflow long-term. When I first tried Tana, I assumed it would be another temporary experiment. That was nearly two years ago. At first glance, Tana might seem like just another outliner or note-taking app. But that assumption is like calling a smartphone "just a phone." Tana is a thinking tool, a productivity engine, and a no-code playground all rolled into one. It’s not about taking notes—it’s about creating systems that work the way you think. What sets Tana apart is its unmatched flexibility. Every month, I find myself replacing another tool because Tana does it better. Task management? Check. Research organization? Check. Knowledge management? Check. It doesn’t impose rigid structures—it lets you shape your own. Tana is different. Tana is my everything app. I wouldn't know what to do without it. It is so easy to capture everything that is in my head and then with Supertags have Tana categorise it and bring it up again when I need it. And with AI & voice built in everything just moves so much faster.
I used Notion and Roam Research a lot, this is the perfect blend for me, for personal PKM, personal CRM, etc. Also can be very useful for task/project management! The slick integration of AI features have me excited and finding new insights, connections, and save me time I would have used before to tag/summarize/synthesize.
After going through the usual flotsam and jetsam of Roam Research, Obsidian, Capacities, Craft, Notion, etc I landed on Tana about 1 year ago. I absolutely adore the object-oriented approach to productivity. A little bit of a learning curve, but wow do I love this product! (no connection to the company just a user)
