New to PH – What’s your best tip for becoming a valuable community member?
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m gearing up for my first Product Hunt launch, and I’ll be honest—I’m both excited and a little nervous!
I’m launching Movitalis, a workout tracker & planner designed for longevity. Unlike traditional fitness apps focused on performance, Movitalis helps regular people stay active and healthy by leveraging the latest research on longevity, without overcomplicating training. It’s already live on the App Store, but I’m preparing a major update and want to introduce it properly here on PH.
As I dive into the community, I’d love to hear your thoughts: What’s your best advice for being a valuable member, providing real value, and building genuine connections here?
Looking forward to learning from you all! 🚀
Thanks,
David

Does the app tell me how much life I've gained (even if it's just a few hours) every time I do what it tells me to do?
@elly_sp Hi Elly! It does not. Lifespan changes do not come from single actions, but from consistency over a long period of time. I know that's not very sexy but it's the truth, which I value in my app.
However, the app does show something very interesting that is similar to your question: a prediction of how long you will be able to sustain various daily activities (such as walking up a few flights of stairs). This prediction changes based on improvements in your cardio capacity and strength, which the app tracks, so you can see how your healthspan increases - just not at the hourly level.
Thanks for your question!
Hey David!
Movitalis seems like a great idea - most fitness apps chase performance, but training for longevity is the smarter play. I hit the gym regularly, but I’m all about staying strong long-term, not just chasing PRs and risking injuries...
Science-backed supplement insights for longevity would be a killer future that would make you stand out in the future. Creatine’s a given, but what about things like magnesium, omega-3s, or glycine? Could be a great value boost and easy upsell.
Excited to see where you take this! 🚀

@bartosz_cwintal Hi Bartosz! I'm glad to hear you like the idea behind Movitalis, that's exactly how I see it as well.
Besides short-term performance-focused thinking, a common pitfall is that people usually tend to choose between developing cardiovascular health and strength - they rarely do both. But the real magic happens when you improve both! Movitalis helps you do just that.
Science-backed supplement insights is an interesting idea. So far I decided to keep Movitalis focused on exercise only, for two reasons: exercise has a much greater influence on your longevity than supplements (we're talking one order of magnitude) and I want to keep the app as simple as possible. I think there already exist many apps that try to biohack everything and end up overwhelming you. Not all lifestyle changes are created equally and I am trying to really focus on the ones that move the needle the most. Hope that makes sense! Also, you probably get 80% of you supplementation needs met if you just take a multivitamin daily.
Thanks a lot for your thoughtful comment! If Movitalis sounds interesting to you, make sure to check it out on App Store and stay tuned for the big update!
David
Also, do you have any suggestions for top creators and hunters I should check out in the Health & Fitness space?
I can't wait for the launch of Movitalis! I really like nFit and HabitKit. As everyone says, you should support the products being launched every day and provide meaningful feedback. Additionally, by actively participating in discussions on forums, you can become valuable members. Staying in touch through LinkedIn afterward will also help in building true relationships.
Welcome to PH, David!
@kay_arkain Thanks a lot, Kay! I will check them out. I see everyone mentioning Linkedin and forums, so I will make sure to do that!
Hey David!
First, Great name! :)
I'm new here as well and love the question so I'm following for answers from people who've been here for awhile.
Movitalis sounds fascinating - how's the launch coming along?
Best wishes!

@david_browndawson Hey David! :)) I'm still working on the launch. In the meantime I have been posting on forums and I learnt it's a great way to connect to people here. I started a few threads on my product forum p/movitalis and it also helped me get some awareness for my product before launching. Hope it helps :)
Pieces for Developers
I think a great way to connect with other makers is by meeting in forums, connecting on LinkedIn and doing a virtual coffee chat! (to be fair, I am just a huge advocate for coffee chats in general) 😂
Your product sounds super interesting! Looking forward to your launch!
@elliezub Thanks Ellie! I'm a big fan of coffee chats too, but usually face to face. How do you go about setting up a coffee chat virtually that is fun and easy?
@movitalis_david_manda, focusing on longevity rather than just performance is a refreshing take on fitness apps. Going to take a look at it. I'm preparing to launch my first PH app, Raven, and also keen on engaging community member but finding it a bit overwhelming. I'm just focusing on engaging where I can offer value and continuing discussions I'm genuinely interested in (perhaps slightly ironic given that I'm sharing little of value here). Trying to keep it natural and authentic. Best wishes with Movitalis!

Hiya! I am getting back into PH after a few years away. In my experience, building genuine connection ahead of time is the most helpful thing. PH has such an incredible community of people, but you need to actually make the effort to connect. I would recommend supporting other's launches by taking the time to review products and engage in forums (like you are here!)
Best of luck with the launch! I am training for a half while trying to develop different muscle groups in the weight room. I have yet to find an app l like enough to stick with so always looking for new, better options. (Currently just rely on my apple watch. 😅)
