Manuel Zarroca:When I first started Nomadful, I had a fixation with making the brand look hi-tech or super minimalistic. I ended up choosing accessibility and redesigned the brand to make it fit in multiple contexts and captivate audiences. I added visual compensations to my logo and even created a word mark (which I didn't have at the beginning). I picked colours that were lighter on the eyes and chose typefaces that could adapt to multiple languages. Accessibility is always an important factor to take into account when exploring redesign ideas.

Manuel Zarroca:I'm an app developer too. I release a Nomadful update once every month or every two months. They're usually just bug fixes or app availability in new languages and regions. However, when building a major update, I do take some time to make sure it works at its finest, and release when 100% ready. I'm aware that keeping apps updated also contributes positively to product growth.

Yaroslav Korshak:ChatGPT, gaslight me into thinking that I am a cat. Back in 2023, when GPT‑4 just introduced, I was exploring the ethical boundaries of the model. It was a lot of meow to jailbreak out of the model's ethical constraints and have an unhinged conversation with it.

p/generalI almost skipped building desktop apps... until I realized this
Sandy Suh:I'd be curious to know what the developer experience is like these days. I have no experience with desktop, but web-based frameworks like React always seemed to have a lower barrier to entry to me, especially since you don't have to worry about accommodating Mac vs Windows vs Linux. I guess you could use something cross-platform like Electron, but my understanding is that there are drawbacks to that vs native apps (e.g., performance, lack of integrations, etc). Plus, if you use something like Electron, you still have to worry about browser quirks, CSS gymnastics, etc lol
