(Free to use SaaS) Launching our product this weekend after 100+ hours

Hey everyone! šŸ‘‹

Excited to finally introduce myself here! I'm Alex. Iā€™ve been following along for a while, and itā€™s amazing to see how many of you are shipping products so quickly. Seriously, how do you do it?! šŸ˜…

This weekend, Iā€™m launching my first product on Product Hunt: Flare. It solves a small but incredibly frustrating problemā€”links opening in the wrong place. You know when you tap a link on Instagram, and instead of opening in your browser or the YouTube app, it gets stuck in an in-app browser? Flare fixes that by ensuring every link opens exactly where it should.

Iā€™ve spent over 100+ hours building this, even though it currently has just one core feature. The reason? Bypassing in-app browsers is way more complex than it seemsā€”social media apps are designed to keep users inside their ecosystem. Making sure Flare seamlessly redirects users without friction took a lot of problem-solving, testing, and fine-tuning.

Flare isnā€™t just a URL shortenerā€”itā€™s a smart redirector that ensures a smooth experience for your audience. Plus, it comes with built-in analytics, so you can track device types and locations for every link you share.

This is my first product. It is completely free. And this is just the beginningā€”next up is Persona AI, an AI-powered tool that helps refine social media campaigns with AI-driven feedback.

Excited (and a little nervous) for the launch! If you check it out, Iā€™d love to hear what you think.

The website is: https://flareb2b.com

Looking forward to learning from and growing with this awesome community! šŸš€

Build an audience first, or launch and grow later?
This is probably one of the most debated topics in the startup world: Should you build an audience before you launch, or is it better to launch first and grow your audience afterward? Iā€™ve seen both approaches work, but each comes with its own set of challenges and rewards. - Building an audience first means you're creating buzz, validating your idea, and nurturing a community of early adopters who are invested in your success. But it takes time, patience, and a lot of effort to keep the momentum going before you even have a product to show. - Launching first lets you hit the ground running, gather real-world feedback, and iterate quickly. But without an existing audience, you might struggle to get those initial users and traction. So, indulge me: Which approach did you take ā€”or are you considering taking (those who haven't launched yet)? - Did you build an audience before launching your product, or did you launch and then focus on growth? - What worked (or didn't work) for you? - If you could go back, would you do it differently? Share your story with us so we can all learn from each other. There's someone here who could benefit from your experience. ----- P.S: If you're a growth-stage founder struggling with churn or stagnant customer acquisition (usually because of poor positioning and messaging), I'd love to help. I specialize in crafting impactful marketing strategies tailored specifically to your product so you can start seeing the results you deserve. Connect with me on LinkedIn today. Can't wait to hear from you!

Has anyone tried Clay for managing relationships and networking?

I've recently come across Clay, and it looks like a super interesting tool for managing relationships and staying on top of networking. I'm curious if anyone here has tried it out.

  • How has it fit into your workflow?

  • Does it really help with staying on top of connections?

  • Any pros and cons you'd call out?

Would love to hear your experiencesā€”especially if youā€™ve found unique ways to get the most out of it!

Learnings from launching on PH without stressing about it!

48 hours ago I launched on Product Hunt.

Here is what happened:

  1. I launched with zero stress.

  2. I didn't send a single DM for getting upvotes.

  3. I found a random Hunter with no followers.

  4. I wanted the whole process to be fully organic, to see how PH works.

  5. I got 85 signups to my app from the whole launch.

  6. I did not get featured on the main page.

Spoke directly with the PH team about how to get featured:

  • You need an innovative product.

  • You need clear visuals.

  • You need clear core messaging of your value proposition.

  • Your app needs to be easy to use.

  • Your app needs to be fun.

Things I found out that I DID NOT LIKE:

  • The bigger the community that backs your launch the better

  • So basically if you don't have one, you don't get your chance

  • In the end of the day, people decide if you are featured on the main page

  • That is ok, but it means that it is not guaranteed I will get my chance to be seen.

I love PH <3 But, as the majority of the "famous" platforms, it requires your whole attention without guaranteeing that you will get your chance. I am not shocked.

What you should do when you launch on PH:

  • Don't stress about it.

  • Being featured or your launch going well has no correlation to how valuable your product is.

  • If you launch, find a famous Hunter with many followers.

BIGGEST INSIGHT:

  • Give your attention to things that matter, i.e creativity, impact, solving a problem, helping people.

  • Keep doing that without being stressed about being featured anywhere.

Stay safe <3

Im launching a new product in 3 weeks.

Hi, i'm finally launching tomorrow after 2000+ hours šŸ˜…

Hi inspiring people! šŸ‘‹

Not sure whether to post in p/introduce-yourself or p/self-promotion, its a bit of both!

Happy to be part of this community. Its inspiring to see what everyone is building. I see people ship new products every month šŸ˜®. Not sure how they do it!

Tomorrow I'll launch my first product here: PowerSearchConsole.com. Its a solo project that has been quite the journey. I started building it to keep better track of the Google Performance of my own sites, but after 2000+ hours of development I feel it's pretty much ready for the world to use, and it might be the most advanced reporting tool for your Google Search Console data.

I know what they say about shipping fast and iterating fast šŸ™‰. I did have some early test users, but I mostly just developed what I need myself. Hope to find out tomorrow if others find it useful too! Feel free to follow my launch here and see if my efforts were worth it... āœŒļø

Previous projects I've worked on are a non-profit earthquake tracking website with around 100,000 monthly visitors, which also took over a year to build šŸ˜…, and an also non-profit calendar with interesting lectures and debates (shut down since covid). This will be my first "for-profit" product, but actually I'm offering a free tier for small sites too.Looking forward to keep learning from and getting inspired by this amazing community. Maybe I'll pick up the pace too, I got some other ideas that shouldn't take 2000+ hours.

Have a good day!
