Hi Product Hunt 👋 Long time, no see!
Excited share Scrimba Fullstack - a learning experience that blends videos and live coding into a single tool. So no more jumping back and forth between YouTube and your code editor.
Previously, Scrimba only supported frontend frameworks (HTML, JS, React, etc.), but now we've expanded into fullstack—letting you run Node.js, execute terminal commands, build APIs, and develop real-world backends directly within the tutorials. For a quick technical demo, check this 4-min screencast: 🎬 https://scrimba.com/s0kmcarts1
We're launching with seven free courses you can enroll into right away, covering subjects like:
Node
Next
Express
SQL
Vite
Command Line
Supabase
... and more to come over the next few weeks.
Finally, we also provide instant AI-powered code reviews on your code, ensuring that you progress through the courses as fast as possible.
Would love to hear your thoughts! 😎

@perborgen Today's the day! So excited to see where this fullstack direction takes us! 🚀
@perborgen finally backend is here 🫡🤌🏻 thank you scrimba
Focusmate
@perborgen really exciting, good luck team!!
@perborgen
Looking forward to starting my journey, learning with video in conjunction with IDE is an awesome experience. Congratulations to the launch team.
@perborgen 😍
Wow, combining video with an IDE? That’s such a great idea!
Huge congrats on your launch, team!
Scrimba
@kay_arkain Thanks! Surprisingly we're basically the only ones trying to combine the IDE with video. Our CTO got the idea when he wanted to teach his own programming language to other devs, and got annoyed by how regular videos reduce all the data into pixels. Much better to just have the IDE itself act as the video 👨💻 🎬
Super excited to learn the backend from scrimba, as soon as my frontend dev path finishes. Really a goated and well developed path and platform, which has taken me from a zero to 100 in web dev in just 2 months. Gotta love Bob, Per and Tom for doing what they do. Can't wait to learn and build more, and super excited for any more future courses that will launch. (Please drop a UI components course for Shadcn or Aceternity UI.)
Scrimba
@apurv13 Yes, I've been thinking about creating a Shadcn course lately. Hadn't heard about Aceternity, to be honest, but it looks really slick. It'll be more likely we'll do the former first though, as we need to prioritize our limited teacher resources on courses that reach as many devs as possible.
@perborgen Yes would love a Shadcn course from scrimba. Would really let me and others level up their landing pages and other UI components dev skills.
This interactive approach is brilliant! Does the platform track progress and offer certifications upon course completion?
Scrimba
@desmond_ren1 Thanks a lot! Yes, we track progress (both your solved challenges and view progress), and offer certificates.

BTW here's our trailer for the launch
🎬🍿Astro
As a Scrimba frontend grad, I'm super excited to see the courses expand to include fullstack! 🥞
Scrimba's web dev and JS/React courses gave me lots of hands-on coding experience, right in the browser. Admittedly, when I left the world of scrims, I wasn't really comfortable with the terminal, Node.js, or even the full VS Code experience, and struggled to fill in that part of the picture on my own. Now, you can get that right in Scrimba, too!
I was an educator for 20 years before getting into web development, and I have to say that I was blown away by the Scrimba learning experience. I can't wait for the next generation to get to learn these concepts in such an effective and engaging way.
Congrats, Scrimba! 🥳
Scrimba
@sarah11918 Thanks a lot, Sarah! Very proud to see one of our grads work at Astro. And yes, I agree that we were lacking content wrt to the terminal and Node, so this was a much needed upgrade. Would love to hear your feedback on the courses if you try them!
Scrimba
Super excited for this 🔥
Strawberry
This is so cool! I had no idea Scrimba existed, this is obviously how coding tutorials should work! Can't wait to try it out :)
@sebastian_thunman 🤯 exactly ! after spending some time on Scrimba, video tutorials feel like the stone age 😆
Congrats. Fullstack looks awesome!
Scrimba
@arne_tonning1 Thanks!
Super excited for this! Scrimba has been instrumental in leveling up my full-stack engineering skills. It’s not just a seamless and amazing platform—the team behind it is equally incredible. It’s safe to say that without scrimba, i wouldn’t have done full-stack so easily.
Thank you Per and team 💜
Scrimba
@idriss_chebak Thank you very much for the kind words, Idriss!
Scrimba
Massive update! 🤯
Big congrats on the launch! Really excited about the backend support and those new courses (Node + Supabase especially).
@yuliya_fomina Thanks. What other courses would you like to see?
SimilarTube
Congrats on the launch, Per! Scrimba Fullstack sounds like a great step forward in making learning to code more interactive. Looking forward to seeing how it enhances the learning experience!
Scrimba
@jun_zhao3 Thanks Jun, we love SimilarTube also when sourcing collabs on YT 😃
Woohoo! Congrats on the successful launch, Scrimba team! The people asked and you delivered (as always).
Can't wait to get my fullstack on. 💪🏻
Scrimba
@alanacapcreates Thanks, Alana! 🙌
BirdTab
Love it! I've been an early user of Scrimba and have recommended it to a number of folks as well. While it was already the goto place for anything frontend, I'm happy to see it progress to full stack genre. Do you plan to support more backend friendly stuff as well, Python for instance?
Scrimba
@jaipandya Thanks for the kind words, Jai! Yes, we're planning to redo our Python course in this new fullstack IDE. However, our Python support is still quite limited, so it will be a Python basics course, and then we'll have to build out better support until we can do a more intermediate one (i.e. covering Django).
There is much more to becoming a web developer than learning to code. Scrimba teaches students how to prepare for the job market, including in-depth courses and hands-on projects, and it also includes a vibrant community!
Today, they just launched a Fullstack course! If you want to land a job in tech, now is a great time to learn with Scrimba!
Scrimba
@michael_larocca Thanks, Michael! 🙏
PlanetScale
Such a big fan of the Scrimba platform as a whole. This launch means I can use it for not only frontend content but also everything full-stack. So excited for the community to be able to learn and build more on the platform.
Scrimba
@jamesqquick Thank you, James! 🙏
Scrimba
Really happy to see Node, Next, and more live on Scrimba! 🎆
EverTutor AI
damn this is called such a great work team 🫡 @perborgen congratulations on a launch
Scrimba
@suryansh_tiwari2 Thanks a lot, Suryansh! EverTutor looks awesome as well 🤩
Super stoked that this day has arrived! For the last few months since (mostly) finishing Scrimba's frontend path I've been using a mixture of different online courses and youtube tutorials to increase my backend knowledge, and it's such a jarring experience when you've been used to Scrimba's teaching style. Looking forward to seeing what you guys have cooked up!
To anyone who hasn't tried Scrimba yet, I can't recommend it enough...whenever any of my family or friends mention wanting to give coding a try, it's the first place I send them 😜 no one has been disappointed yet!
Scrimba
@jimmyr00t Thank you so much for recommending us, Jimmy! Let me know if the fullstack courses live up to your expectations, or if you have feedback on how we can improve them.
