Hey Product Hunt! I'm Julien, and I'm building eesel with @amoghito and @kant01ne.
eesel filters your browser history to show the documents you need for work right in your new tab, so they're always handy and easily searchable. Today, we’re incredibly excited to announce “Folders” for eesel.
We've built Folders because we struggled keeping things organised in Google Drive or Notion pages. We'd always forget to put the right link in the right place, and once the trust had been broken, the entire system we spent so much time working on would collapse.
With Folders, eesel will automatically create and update Folders of your docs so your team can have one source of truth for projects, customers or processes, without the effort of maintaining things.
As always, we tried to build Folders with privacy at the forefront. The content of your docs is stored locally and never leaves your computer. If you decide to add a page to a Folder, only the title and the URL of the page will be stored privately and securely on eesel's servers so you can share or retrieve your Folders.

Eesel is the tool that makes everything else work. Folders are an awesome way to collect project-related information: Miro boards, Jira epics, Notion one-pages and pretty much anything else.

I've been an eesel user for more than a year now and love it. I'd been waiting for the ability to organise links by more than just which website/tool it's from so this is super exciting to hear. Can't wait to try it out. Congrats on the launch 🚀
Very cool! Love the automatic adding based on rules. We prefix a lot of relevant docs with customers names so it would be pretty easy for us to setup

We haven't pushed to optimise folder suggestions specifically for this but we've definitely heard from beta users it works quite well for sales/CS teams to organise things by customers' names!

Based on our trusted beta users feedbacks and on our first intuitions, we have been pushing our limits to make sure you don’t have to struggle to organise your work anymore.
Looking back on what we’ve built, pushing relevant automatic folders suggestions was the most challenging and exciting part of building folders in terms of engineering! We are also super excited about what’s coming next ;)

Long time daily user of eesel and super excited about the addition of folders to better organize my work. If you spend most of your day in a bunch of different browser tabs and haven't tried out eesel you're missing out!!

I've been an eesel user for a while and this is a great addition (particularly when I use notion/drive interchangeably) Do you have plans to let users add in their own rules for classifications?
Hi @rahul_shivkumar and thanks for the feedback! Yes, you can already completely customise that. You can create new Folders manually by clicking on the "+" button in the sidebar, and for any new or existing Folder, you can also define the rules that will be used to try to match pages. Just open the Folder, click on "Add pages" and then "Automatically". From there you can combine rules based on the title or the URL of the pages. Let me know if that's not clear I'd be happy to walk you through that!
