@chrismessina Hi Chris - Carma is really all about people carpooling with their neighbors on their daily commute (typically 17 miles +), rather than shorter utility trips. Carma drivers don't divert from their normal schedule / routine as they never make a profit, although they can save a bit on their driving costs - riders contribute about $0.20 per mile. A lot of the time, the primary incentive is to get to drive in the HOV / carpool lane so they can fly past traffic and spend more time being productive at work and with their family in the evenings. The average car has 1.1 occupants at peak travel times, so our goal is really to inspire people to think differently about their commute and incentivizing people to carpool with their neighbors.
