Are founders too obsessed with branding before they have a product?
... brand presence got them credibility, early press, and investor meetings even before launch. Personally, I like good optics. The visual promise, even before interacting with the product, says a lot. You can tell in my case from our website . A well-chosen color scheme can signal personality. A clear tone of voice can show they understand their audience. These things can build trust before anyone ever clicks Sign up. But things shouldn't just look good. They should be Good ... ... obsessing over branding early on just procrastination disguised as productivity? Or is it a strategic move to position yourself in a crowded market from day one? If you re building now, how much time are you putting into branding versus

5 Things I’d Do Again for a Strong Product Hunt Launch
... product in closed beta, we did surprisingly well in our debut on Product Hunt. I ve already written about our full launch-day tactics (see previous forum post ), but some founders reached out asking: What specifically worked for Product Hunt? Here are the 5 biggest things I will repeat as we plan a future open beta launch. I hope it helps you too! Start Launch Planning Early Start months before launch. I spent time connecting with other founders and regularly ... ... connect with other launchers via LinkedIn/email/their web contact form - build relationships before launch day. What is the most underrated growth hack for Product Hunt launch day?
... Personally, I believe (and still stand by it) that there are no shortcuts to success, only well-thought-out and applied tactics. What marketing tactics for a successful product hunt launch have worked for you or grabbed your attention immediately? Here are a few I ve noticed: Live-streaming on launch day via X and YouTube. Getting hunted by an internal PH team member e.g., Rajiv hunted quite a few. Inviting as many makers with large followings to your team ... ... could have helped is a campaign. A campaign lets you gather vote promises. When you launch, you can send a single message to these people, asking them to vote. Comment from Philippe Bernard(@ph_bernard): @purvamjoshi You're doing well

Which platform do you consider trustworthy when reading product reviews?
... Whenever I m about to buy something (especially something more expensive), I can be easily influenced by recommendations from people I trust and know . That might be well-known accounts on X or suggestions from friends. Or, I go and read the reviews . That s what I m curious about: Which platform do you usually use to look up product reviews? And are there any others you know of besides the ones I mention below? For me personally ... ... review. Comment from Sunny_K_S(@sunny_k_s): I always go to Reddit first and read the reviews and discussions there. Then g2 and if a product is available on AppSumo, I check it out there as well

which industry do you think is the riskiest to start a business, and which is flourishing?
... pessimistically , but I would still like to know your perspective on the situation and maybe see any empty gaps that can be filled. What I've noticed, for example, is that things related to defense are doing extremely well now, also because of the geopolitical situation in the world. Should you offer free access when launching a paid product on Product Hunt?
... trial that gives people enough time to evaluate during the launch buzz, but converts them to paid after. I've seen successful launches using all three approaches, but I'm curious what actually works better for building genuine momentum versus just getting empty upvotes. What's your experience launching paid products on PH? Do you think the community expects some level of free access, or are people fine paying if the value is clear?
