Key takeaways from our 2025 Product of the Month launch | Cursor for Slides
... June 6, Andrej Karpathy casually spoke about Cursor for Slides. Within minutes: Homepage copy was updated everywhere to echo his phrase. Slack and Twitter lit up with founders, PMs and designers sharing Chronicle is that! Lesson: Treat every genuine shout-out as a live copy test. Monitor replies, retweets and DMs to harvest the language your audience actually uses. 2. Rapid-fire experiments We never waited for launch day. What’s the one tool in your tech stack that saves you hours every week?
... hunt for tools that actually make a difference in day-to-day work. So I m asking the Product Hunt braintrust: What s the tool you d fight to keep in your stack - and why? No shame in shouting out the obvious ones (Notion, Linear, Figma), but I m really curious about underrated picks too. Drop your faves I m bookmarking everything! Comment from Abdirizak Mohamed(@mr_vibecoder): For me is @Cursor , i used it to speed up my prototype ... ... just use TubeMemo extension to quickly take notes. It s way faster and I always have notes to look back on... https://tubememo.com Comment from Chris Lucas(@chrislucas): @federico_zuluaga_knorr 1000% Comment from Chris Lucas(@chrislucas): @iamrajanrk shoutout

... experiment with building a community around curiosity and creativity. It s scrappy. It s messy. It s ours. Here s what we ve learned so far Substack Traction We started on Substack, but it never quite clicked. Felt like shouting into the void. We deleted our account and focused on what was working: Product Hunt Real reach, real feedback X Still small, but steady growth and genuine interactions The Best Feedback is Real-Time This isn t just a newsletter ... ... Premium $10 on a failed post promotion Early marketing lessons? Priceless. What s Working Product Hunt is by far our best organic channel. This is how we're surviving against funded competitors for our vibe coding platform.
... build mobile apps. Soon hitting 50 new signups daily. All these signups came with massive LLM costs. Starting with just ~$4K, we burned through 30% of our budget in the first week with only $260 MRR. Our well-funded competitors offered 5 free code gen requests daily (30/month), while we provided just 1 request/user lifetime. Talked to users, they wanted to explore platform for free but even with our minimal free tier, costs were eating up our savings. Traffic kept ... ... blogs. We approached VCs but got no replies. We pivoted to a paid-only model after burning 60% of our funds. Still getting ~50 daily signups from our @daily.dev blog, but users expected the same free plans as competitors

📈 Traffic Numbers after a successful Product Hunt launch - Top 5 Product of The Day
... others to structure mine. A few days before launch share your app with users who fit 100% your target user persona. Listen to their feedback and iterate. That will help you have a smooth product ready to be used. Shout out to @busmark_w_nika & @julia_zakharova2 for supporting me with this. Engage with the comments people leave on your page every single one of them. They check your creation and deserve your attention. All in all, a Product ... ... Comment from Nika(@busmark_w_nika): @cryptosymposium  Would definitely go for more in marketing, because if launch can bring money, this can be scalable even more :) Comment from Nika(@busmark_w_nika): Congratulations :) And thank you for shout

Shout out your favorite new product you absolutely love using (that’s not yours)
... combines outputs from multiple LLMs to generate the best version, which I found unique and innovative. They may be launching on PH soon! Comment from Yan Bingbing(@onbing): Cursor (AI-native code editor) it s ruined me for VS Code. Its ctrl + feature explains legacy code in Gen Z slang. Comment from Matt Carroll(@catt_marroll): @Moonlander to be honest! I've had it for years, but this year i finally realized just how much better it is to write ... ... recently too! It makes recording a GIF pretty painless and the annotation feature is really nice. What are best payment gateways for global sales?
... charges me 5% per transaction and their support is unwilling to reduce it to 3% for me while I know they do lower the transaction fee for certain accounts. Thinking to switch to either of the following: Stripe Paddle (shoutout to my friend @thisiskp_ ) Lemonsqueezy Gumroad ( @shl ) Razorpay Fastspring Wise Dodo Payments What do you recommend for cross-border payments? Comment which platform works the best for you :) Comment from Alex Roggero(@alex_roggero): Stripe! Comment from Rico(@ricoboost): @siddharthpereiras ... ... well on how technical you are. But long story short, global Payments? => Crypto. Comment from steve beyatte(@steveb): Stripe is the de facto. You get so much with it and the fees are "normal". Paddle seems like a competitor

🚨 Landing Page Roast: 48 Hours Only 🚨
... affiliate content to boost revenue, right? Good point. Although we see monetization as a key hook for early adopters struggling to generate content they can monetize. I could own a Shopify Store and generate a comparative research report on competitor products and use that to drive sales for my own store... It's a way to turn content into commerce, or even just to do product research for yourself. AMA w/ James & Tim (founders of posthog)
... hear you on the allergy to enterprise sales :) We've been building extensions to Product Hunt that go beyond launches, to try to solve the G2/Capterra/Gartner problem but in a higher-signal, more authentic, community-driven way (hence shoutouts/testimonials, forums). Is there one thing that you feel is slowing your growth the most that we could help unlock? Do you pay G2? Comment from Aaron O'Leary(@aaronoleary): Hey James & Tim! Thanks for doing this AMA, loved watching PostHog ... ... have 14 ish products, and we're working on adding way more. we've cut pricing when everyone else increases it. we've hired more people into support and they're all pretty technical. developer brand is getting weirder vs

Why is Cursor so much more popular than Windsurf?
... editor journey has been: 1. Tried out Github copilot in VS Code. Loved it. 2. Then tried out @Cursor after @bernatfortet kept talking about it. Immediately switch to Cursor. 3. Then tried out @Windsurf after @lagap discovered it. Immediately fell in love and switched. Anecdotally, everyone is talking about Cursor. And no one is really talking about Windsurf. On Product Hunt, Cursor has 845 Shoutouts
