Looks pretty.

Yahoo just relaunched its messenger app after it was pulled from app stores this spring. There are a bunch of neat new features: Quickly share a high-res photo album, easily search for and send animated GIFs, and take back messages by unsending them.

the messenger market is so crowded and competitive. How does Yahoo messenger differentiate from others?

This is a nice app but I'm wondering why they need this and Telegram.

@erikerik what do you mean by "why they need". Yahoo doesn't own Telegram, right? Do you mean why do users need both?

It's great that they released a messenger, but quite frankly I don't think I need another one (Facebook, Whatsapp, Slack, Viber, Wechat, Google etc) - a little too late, Yahoo should focus it's resources on actually making it's business more relevant rather than building messengers :). Now in terms of UI and functionality, looks great!

@rickats I do agree with you! They did a good job but it's way too late for others to go back and start using Y! Messenger again! WhatsApp is still #1, Facebook messenger is another popular due to its social media network, and Linkedin's new message as messenger is already out there to cater its professional. And of course, how can we forget about iOS's built-in Text app as messenger to chat from one iOS to another iOS user! It's difficult for Yahoo to take these users back to its messenger again; at least for now.
