@alyssaxuu@nfoxnyc@marie_dm_ Wow! finally is launched! Well done. Women Makers is among the most brightest people who is very creative and talented in the world! Community is so friendly and of course good vibe! Thank you Marie for creating it.
@marie_dm_ Very cool! I've also found it difficult to find other female entrepreneurs outside of in-person events like MicroConf. Thank you for making this!
Seeing the moderation, effort and care Marie puts into the community, makes you reconsider your standards on what an online community is capable of and should be!
If you're a woman in tech or maker of things, needless to say, I highly recommend to *definitely* join WM, you'd know why as soon as you join and the friendliest people greet you to get to know you!
You'll see from people of all levels from senior coders to beginner designers and senior project managers, from artists and animators to startup founders, and of course makers, an incubator manager brainstorming, people discussing anything from nature, cooking, to deeply philosophical discussions and psychology.
You'd think using tools like Slack, Discord or whatever is important, but if WomenMake was using pigeons transferring messages, it'd still be the best community I've been part of (Yes I'm one of the few men in fellow women's community)
There are women sharing their daily stories, answering technical questions, asking for advice and people congratulating each other small and big wins. People helping with your landing page to giving you emotional support to go through the hardest times.
@morajabi OMG I don't know what to say Mo! π You've been a long time, active member of this community and I think you are the living proof that everyone can get along and respect each other, whatever the gender. You truly are a good person and I'm glad you are a part of this community. Also, you really made me laugh with the pigeon thing π
@marie_dm_ Noticed a few things, the "Top Supporters" section is mostly men. What does that mean? Is it like men who support women entrepreneurs or are they the most active (if so, where do I find women makers to connect to?). Also, I can only sign in with Telegram - would love more options! Or a way to sign up with email/password since I don't really use Telegram.
@imswaathik@imswaathik Everyone is welcome on Women Make as long as they are here to empower women. Which means there are actually a few men on Women Make, who support us. I created this group and made it open because I think it's the only way to change things. That being said, there is a Patreon, which means supporters don't have to be members of the community. As for the order, supporters are ranked by two criteria: the amount of their financial support and the date they became a supporter.
Congrats on the launch @marie_dm_! Women Make is a great place to be. It's the only community I feel like everything and everyone aligns with the values it's built upon.
I really appreciate your work and engagement to keep it that way. Love to see Women Make grow!
Congrats @marie_dm_ π This is one of my fave online communities. So many learning opportunities and genuine friendships. Thanks for bringing us all together!
Congrats @marie_dm_ on the launch! Women Make has been creating lots of values for the makers community. It's an inspiring platform to be part of and learning from other experienced founders/makers.
Congrats on the launch, @marie_dm_ ! It's been such a joy to watch Women Make grow and evolve over the last few years. I feel very lucky to be part of the women that you've brought together. Excited to see what's next! π
Most supportive corner on the internet for women entrepreneurs by a woman entrepreneur. Marie keeps the moderation level high. Kudos on the launch π
Such a safe and supportive place. Iβve been a member for over a year and this is really delivering.
Anytime Iβve had a question, someone was here to help.
Some fellow members even recommended me for jobs.
Iβve had the opportunity to also grow confidence in my skills while mentoring younger members and as we started running webinars.
Itβs THE place to be β₯οΈ
A wonderful community to be part of, no elitism but genuine support! Itβs a safe environment for women and men alike, highly recommend you join if you want to be part of intellectuals, builders, makers, creatives across the globe! No pressure, conversations flow naturally, support is always available to you! Marie has done an incredible job, where other communities have turned toxic and competitive, elitist she has maintained a sense of empathy amongst all the members of Women Make! Very proud of you @marie_dm_!!! Wishing you so much more success for Women Make in 2020!!
Congratulations, Marie!! I have loved being along for the ride while you grow this incredible community. Thank you for bringing together awesome people in one place!
