👋 Hey Product Hunt community! I’ve always been a big fan of apps like Blinkist and Headway—they’re great for non-fiction. But there was always something missing for me. I kept thinking, "Why isn’t there an app extracting wisdom and life lessons from fiction? There’s so much value in novels!” 📚 So, after a year of hard work and development, I’m excited to introduce Wisebits - Tales Untold! We’ve created an app that focuses on bringing out the deep insights from fiction that often go unnoticed. Here’s what Wisebits offers: - Bite-sized Stories: Transform your favorite novels into short self-help stories you can implement in your life today. - Immersive Audio Stories: Enjoy beautifully narrated tales with stunning graphics. - Personalized Letters: Imagine getting a letter from your favorite character, offering you personal growth advice. - Reading Goals: Stay on track with custom weekly reading targets tailored just for you. We’ve launched on the iOS App Store, and I’d sincerely love to get your feedback. Download the app now and start discovering! Can’t wait to hear what you think. 🙌 Thanks for the support!

@kjosephabraham Thanks so much! 😊 The idea behind the name Wisebits is to highlight the fact that novels are packed with "wise bits" of wisdom and life lessons. These insights often go overlooked, and we wanted the name to reflect the value and depth that fiction can offer.

@whoisrade Congratulations on the launch! This is fantastic and has really impressed me. What’s next for you guys?

I've already downloaded it, can't wait to give it a try! The name Wisebits is pretty cool. Is there a story behind it? Also, are there plans to release an Android version?
Germán Merlo
Hey Rade! It's super cool being able to meet book characters and I'm sure all the readers are gonna love it. Keep on that way mate, way to go!
Rade Joksimovic
@german_merlo1 Thanks German, much appreciated! 😊

I struggled with Blinkist because I found that its summaries were so often watered down that the salient lessons from the book weren't really represented that well. Nir Eyal's book, Indistractable, was a great example where I was underwhelmed reading the Blinkist summary but the experience of actually reading the book was incredible. I'll be curious to see how Wisebits does in this area.

Interesting idea! The UI is amazing, and it's also amazing that the stories are short. Do you have plans to offer novels in other languages, such as Dutch?
Rade Joksimovic
@akmyrat Thanks for the kind words, Akmyrat! 😊 Initially, we planned to offer the stories in English, Spanish, French, and Italian, but we decided to go lean startup and launch in English only until we gain some traction. Pinning Dutch to the list for when the time comes though! 🚀🌍

Just installed it, The APP feels great. Easy to use and browse. Feels familiar and visually appealing. I am more of a listener. Maybe you should have listening speed slower then 1x..oh you have 0.8 👍🏼 just realized! Bravo @whoisrade
Rade Joksimovic
@lodge23 Thanks so much! 😊 We added speed adjustments, but we're considering making them more granular. Some users have suggested a 0.9 speed between 0.8 and 1. What do you think? 🎧

I downloaded your app, and it’s beautiful! I am not your target audience since I’ve already read most of the suggestions, but what I saw could be useful if I were a high school student, for example…. But if that were the case, I might be a bit confused by the genre selection, pictures or emojis could help… and most importantly, why should I buy your product? What does a subscription get me? It wasn’t clear and it kind of popped up unexpectedly, before I could figure anything out:( I hope that’s useful🥸Also, a question: how did you make those app screenshots on your website? my product is an app too and I want them;) thanks!
Rade Joksimovic
@kathyyy6 Thank you so much for the feedback! 😊 Even if you’ve read the novels, our stories offer a new twist, letting you "meet" the characters in a different way. Icons for genres are a great idea—we'll definitely add them! Currently, without a subscription, you can only read or listen to the first two chapters. To enjoy the full stories, you'll need to start a 7-day free trial and then subscribe. For the website screenshots, I designed them in Figma and used Webflow to create the website with these scroll-based animations. Hope that helps! 📚✨

@whoisrade yes, I read your 1st comment and the website:) I meant it wasn't clear to me from the app... and thanks for explaining about the screenshots, I'm going to do that! Anyway, good luck with the app, I love what you're doing:)
Rade Joksimovic
@kathyyy6 Ohhh, gotcha! We'll need to work on that, if you have any idea how could it be improved I'm all ears! 😊 Thanks and good luck to you too!

@whoisrade just an idea, but you could put the info in the onboarding sequence, as in this is what you get if you pay this much, and try it for free for 2 chapters, just rethink the funnel a little, because that pop up was annoying. But most importantly test in on the actual target audience:) hope this helps:)

It sounds like you’re asking about a specific society or community. To give a helpful response, could you clarify which society or community you’re referring to? If you mean evaluating the quality or nature of a society in general, factors to consider include: - **Social Support**: How well does it support its members? - **Opportunities**: Are there opportunities for personal and professional growth? - **Equality**: Does it promote fairness and equal rights? - **Safety**: Is it a safe environment for everyone? - **Quality of Life**: Are basic needs like healthcare, education, and housing met? Let me know if you have a specific society or aspect in mind!

"Wisebits" isn't a widely recognized term, so I'll assume you're referring to "wise bits" or useful pieces of advice for improving something. Here are a few general "wise bits" for improvement: 1. **Understand Your Users**: Always design with the end user in mind. Conduct user research to understand their needs and preferences. 2. **Iterate and Test**: Continuously test your design and make improvements based on user feedback. 3. **Prioritize Functionality**: Ensure that the primary functions are easy to access and use. 4. **Stay Updated**: Keep up with the latest design trends and technology to incorporate relevant updates. 5. **Simplify**: Aim for simplicity and ease of use rather than overwhelming users with too many options or complex features. 6. **Seek Feedback**: Regularly gather and act on feedback from users to refine and enhance the product. If you meant something specific by "wisebits," please let me know!

Hey Rade, I'm curious about the personalized letters feature. How do you decide the content of these letters, and are they based on specific characters from the stories? Congrats on the launch!
Rade Joksimovic
@kyrylosilin Thanks for the comment! 😊 The contents of the personalized letters are indeed based on the main characters from the novels. They are written in the first person as if the characters are speaking directly to you, offering advice and wisdom they've gained through their journeys. Plus, we have immersive audio versions of all stories in the app for a richer experience. Hope you enjoy it! 🎧📚

Wow, @whoisrade, this sounds amazing! I've always felt that fiction teaches us so much, and you’re totally right—there’s a ton of wisdom to unpack. The personalized letters from characters idea is just genius! Can't wait to dive into those stories. The audio narration is such a cool touch too; it really helps bring the tales to life. Do you have plans for expanding the story selection? I'm all in for this!✨
Rade Joksimovic
@blankwebdev Thank you so much! 😊 I'm glad you resonate with the idea. We currently have almost 700 stories in the app and are constantly adding more. If you have a favorite novel that we haven't created a story for yet, just let us know and we'll make it happen for you! 📚✨ Your support means a lot to us!

Congratulates! Wisebits is really amazing! Setting reading goals is a great way to keep users engaged. How are these goals personalized? Do you use the users' reading habits and preferences to tailor these targets
Rade Joksimovic
@jane0621 Thank you so much! 😊 Currently, users set their reading goals manually, but we're thinking of introducing challenges and streaks to help keep everyone motivated. Your feedback is appreciated! 📚✨
