Walling is an easy-to-use tool that will help you capture ideas and visualize them into collaborative Walls. The workflow on Walling makes it super easy to save any idea now and put it to work later.
Thank you @aaronoleary as always :)
Hi Product Hunt!
Walling founder here. We launched Walling 1.0 on PH last year to help you visualize your ideas in collaborative Walls. Today we are launching Walling 2.0 with a bigger mission than just saving and organizing ideas.
We are building Walling to be the one place where you can effortlessly save all your everyday ideas, online and offline discoveries, and make it easy for everyone to put their ideas to work, use them in projects and ultimately, achieve great things with them. https://walling.app/why-walling.
Here’s a brief overview of the new major features we introduced and what happened since our first PH launch:
- We introduced the all new “Daily Desk”, a single space to capture all your ideas without worry about which Wall to post to.
- “Connect” to help you connect different ideas on a daily basis with an easy and a frictionless experience.
- We added a free plan to help everyone use and explore the potential of Walling in their workflows for free with no trial days limit.
- Global search is finally here with the ability to search text, objects and colors in your uploaded images. e.g. want to search for all images with a red car? you can do that in an instant.
- More collaboration features and real time Wall discussion.
- Variety of new Object types including code blocks.
- Individuals and teams from big brands including InVision, Lyft, Facebook, Uber and -Shopify are using Walling to achieve more with their ideas.
- Many new features and tons of UX improvements. Complete change log can be found here: https://walling.app/changelog
We are beta testing the iOS and Android apps soon with our community group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/.... Please feel free to join us, it’s a great place to learn more about Walling, ask questions and get inspired by other Wallers.
🎉 🎉 To celebrate Walling 2.0 launch on PH, This coupon code (WALL20PH) will give you a 25% discount on the yearly plan. The code is valid for the next 5 days.
Thank you PH community. It’s still a long journey for Walling. Your continuous support is helping us develop and shape Walling to be a great product that adds a real value to your workflow.
How would I use walling for long form notes? I currently use Dynalist - but i'm looking for something similar but more visual that acts both as a collector and a long form note taker. Can you show me an example?
Ok, I just tested it... and looks really loong. Perhaps you shoud take a look at how milanote does this by limiting card height and having a long form note after X charaters... (an maybe add code blocks too!)
After messing around with it I have to say I like it. I feel like there is more potential for you guys to try and act as a zettelkasten system to compete against Zettlr, Obsidian, RoamResearch but I see what you guys are as more of a visual version of that.
@elmasryahmed I would love to see native Mac and Markdown support for this to become a real contender. Also, why does the URL not change to indicate the Wall I am in? Makes linking to research from existing Todolist software a hassle.
@codymclain Hi Cody! Thanks a lot for giving Walling a try! The URL suggestion is pretty smart, we will get this done very soon. I can already see how helpful that option would be for bookmarking specific Walls.
Thanks again!
Walling just keeps getting better and better! When you first start out using it with the web clipper you think, damn, this is the best bookmark manager ever. Not too long after you start to realize that is just the tip of an enormous iceberg! I love how Ma Gie up above put it, being "the best idea tank ever!" Truly is! You can collect important links, files, images etc., share ideas, brain dump, write, and so on without knowing how to organize these things. You just let Walling do it. It's hard to articulate it the right way when instead, I suggest you just try it!
I like it! Clean UI, easy to use. I'm currently using Google Keep, but the checklists and bullets don't work well. Looking forward to trying out Walling.
Have been using this to organize everything from collecting inspiration, saving ideas, todos, moodboards, team collaboration for notes and documents, and now it has become my bookmark manager as well!
The development has been so smooth and updates are exciting to see implemented from user suggestions on their FB group.
* Customary Disclaimer IMDB style - I usually do not write reviews but this made me rise from my no-review slumber and put words together*
Okay, I will be honest, I did not give it much of a thought when I was finding it difficult to sign-up using a google ID. It looked like a different take on organising life and the demo video called out the USP but it did not make me jump out of my seat to try using it.
I wanted to give it a shot before I moved onto my mundane life filled with product discovery adventures. And then I kept using the app the entire day. So much so that I am finding reasons to use the daily desk feature of the app. I LOVE the app! It makes so much sense to have one dumping place (for lack of a better word) and then be able to visualise it and add nodes (aka tags).
I upgraded to use the search and would like to play with it for a month and then decide whether the lifetime plan is worth it :)
Thank you @elmasryahmed for creating this app :)
We have been using the app. Its one of the best Moodboard app in the market. Have a detailed meeting with Elmasry. It going to be huge. Trust me everyone needs a mood board. Walling does more though apart from its core features.
I use Walling all the time - which surprised me. I test apps all the time and this one has stuck. Here is why - it is easy to bookmark and add files to a wall. Than you have a way to mark each card / brick resolved. Finally, if you need to you can export notes as HTML. That workflow is also wrapped in an beautifully designed app.
For me, the gold of the year. I never thought I’d find an app capable of organizing my thoughts the way I do in Walling. Ideas, projects, mood boards, photography references, bookmarks. And it just get better by the day!
Walling I LOVE you guys - I am working on launching two businesses right now and need to be able to work on one deeply and ignore the other at times and this product is perfect and keeping me slightly sane at times. I love the new updates and the briefs are amazing. I am kicking off work with my teams directly from the platform and it looks amazing. Go team, great work.
Walling.... Amazing, game changing, app! In using just a short time, it’s helped me achieve more with my every day ideas and inspiration through implementation.
I fully investigated Walling before I decided to invest. I find the product is FULL of potential and the founder is fully committed to growing Walling to become a world-class platform. Walling is deceptively simple, but what lies underneath its simplicity is a wealth of potential. The community that is also forming to support its evolution is awe-inspiring. All I can say is: Join the journey and stay tuned for an ideas platform destined for glorious growth!
I've been using Walling for about a month and it is now like my second brain, where I capture ideas as they come to mind. Then I organize them so I can find what I want later. I'm excited about what's to come. 👍👏
