Why are people from CS or tech background downplaying Vibe Coding — or I should say, AI Coding?

I don’t get it, honestly.

I’ve made a bunch of actually useful web apps recently using lovable.dev and v0.dev, and here’s the thing:
I don’t know how to code. At all.
No CS background. No tech degree. Just a regular person scrolling through tools and products like everyone else.

But around 3 months ago, I gave v0.dev a try... and I was genuinely shocked.
Not just by how well it worked, but by how fast it’s improving.
It’s kind of scary — in the best way.

Sure, it can’t build a full app from start to finish yet...
But take a second to think about it —
This kind of thing didn’t even exist 2 years ago.
At the pace it’s moving?
Give it 1 year and solo builders will be able to do some absurd stuff.

Here’s the real kicker:

I think that if you even know just the basics of coding,
you can build stuff that’s good enough to launch.

That’s wild.

I’m out here shipping things without knowing how to code —
So if you know even a little… what’s stopping you?

If you’ve been standing on the edge, thinking about building something —
Jump.
It’s really not as far as it used to be.

Absolutely loved this, Yash.

You nailed it — tools like v0.dev aren’t "cheating," they’re unlocking creativity. It's not about replacing devs, it's about enabling people who never thought they could build to finally bring their ideas to life. That’s powerful.

I come from a bit of a tech background and honestly, seeing non-coders build and ship cool, functional stuff is inspiring. It’s a whole new era — the builder’s era. The lines are blurring, and I think that’s a good thing.

Keep shipping. Keep sharing. You’re proving what’s possible.

@parth_ahir indeed. With the recent launch of Codex by OpenAI and their talks to acquire Windsurf, it’s becoming clearer than ever that in this new era, ideas and execution—especially in marketing—will reign supreme. Anyone can ship an MVP now, at the very least.

You know, it's wild the same crowd who once praised Stack Overflow is now mad at AI for doing it faster.

Maybe because it's shifting the definition of 'coding' itself it's less about syntax now and more about creativity.
