My impression is that it's the ones who manage to engage the community somehow, and this typically originates outside of PH. It could be a Twitter stint or a solid marketing effort outside of PH.
Of course, they still have to be good products! But I think that promotion is more crucial
@therealkaczor agree does seem like the promotion side has become quite critical. organic discovery pretty difficult. part of that is maybe to be expected given the sheer volume of launches.
i do wonder if the active userbase has skewed more towards makers trying to launch than seekers over time. i'll be the first to admit PH was not on my radar until i had something to launch earlier this year.
The products with a well-thought through launch plan usually do well.
Apart from this, organically few ideas hit the right spot and hence are given preference over others.
I think minimalist and easy to use tools perform the best. Products that can be understood and used right away without a steep learning curve seem to do well.
