What have been your experiences? Have you managed to build a community around your product or service? How supportive were they, and what is the most important thing you gained from building in public?

This is a very good question! - thanks for that. Excited to follow the discussion. We've been working on building a community around an open-source tool for a while now without too much traction. One thing we've noticed is that success stories like streamlit, wandb, etc., they had quite a long take-off period without too much traction either. IMO, what makes a difference is 1. Finding an organic way of getting in front of a lot of people. But until you find that organic growth engine, you will just have to put yourself in front of as many as possible to gather feedback. 2. Keep validating, iterating, and potentially pivoting to reach the best market fit

We teach students NOT to build in public. It creates copycats and dilutes your brand.
