Podcast Growth in 2025 - What's Still Missing?
Hey everyone 👋
I've been spending a lot of time thinking about podcast growth lately - especially from the perspective of independent creators who don't always have access to big platforms or network-level tools.
Will older tools like Chartable now gone, I'm curious how others are navigating this space in 2025.
Here are a few things I’d love to hear your thoughts on:
How are you tracking your podcast’s growth and audience reach today?
Are there features or tools you wish podcast platforms offered?
What kind of insights or analytics do you think actually help with growth?
What’s one thing that frustrates you about the current landscape?
I’ve been personally diving into this space and would love to compare notes, learn from your experiences, and understand how others are approaching it.
Let’s make this a shared resource for anyone building or growing a podcast in 2025 👇

Beyond ads and subscriptions there's a gap in creative income streams that actually serve both creators and listeners well.
@juliette_lyons Totally agree — monetisation beyond ads and subs is still so underdeveloped. Curious if you’ve seen any creative models that actually work well for indie creators?
So many amazing voices out there but they're still hard to find unless you already know what you're looking for.
@mindy_mcconaghy Yes! Discovery is still one of the biggest unsolved problems. Even as a listener, I struggle to find great new voices unless someone directly recommends them. Feels like such a missed opportunity.
Totally feel you—losing Chartable left a gap. I’ve been relying more on Spotify Mypricezone Wrapped-style recaps, but wish there were better cross-platform listener journey insights.
@jackob1 Yep, I felt the same. Chartable going away left a serious gap. Recaps are nice, but they don’t show the full picture.
I’ve actually been building something to try and fix this (ResonanceX) which focuses on giving indie creators clearer cross-platform insights and Smartlink tracking. Still early-stage, but if you’re curious, happy to share more. Would love your take either way! 🙌
