Next 20 years in Software Development

We have all read about magical OpenAI and ChatGPT. I am keen to hear your perspective on how software development, particularly coding, testing, and deployment, will evolve over the next 20 years. I believe the last 20 years were of new programming languages, frameworks, web/mobile/cloud, and most importantly the maturity of open-source software. Where are we headed now, particularly with the AI (OpenAI/ChatGPT etc.)

In the next 20 years, we are likely to see an increased integration of AI technologies into the development process, with a particular focus on automating certain tasks such as testing, deployment, and debugging.

@philipsnyder totally agree. I think lot of that will begin to happen in the next 5 years.
