Monorepos vs Polyrepos: Share Your Experiences!

What's your take? Have you had success with a monorepo, or do you prefer the polyrepo approach, where each project has its own dedicated repository? Would love to hear everyone's experiences and tips for managing either of these!

I had experience with both approaches and monorepo works well in most cases if cooked right. The main problem of the polyrepo approach is scalability. It might work fine on a small scale (like a small team and 2-4 repos), but then it becomes hard to maintain all the repos. On the other hand monorepo approach solves the scalability problem but it requires some expertise to be implemented. For example, you should pay attention to build and deploy workflows. The choice might also depend on the technologies you're using because for example JavaScript ecosystem has pretty good support for monorepos.
