What worked for us at the beginning was going to other people's subreddits and joining pre-existing conversations. We would answer the questions of other students and at the very bottom we would say "if you want to learn more, we can chat over DMs", and surprisingly a lot of people would reach out to us. But, Reddit really punishes accounts that promote their products in the community, so all your promotion has to be indirect or over DMs. Hope that helps!
