Hey fellow hunters and enthusiasts 👋 I'm thinking about launching an API product on product hunt and would love to hear some best practices and pitfalls to avoid 😄 A bit more about the product: It is an API that can be used to add search capabilities for structured data in your product. Will share some more details soon 😉👨‍💻 Happy for any hints on how to make a launch specifically targeting developers/builders as users successful! Best practices: - Build a strong community: You can do this by creating a blog, publishing articles, and participating in relevant online communities. - Create a compelling presentation: Your Product Hunt presentation should be clear, concise, and visually appealing. - Promote your launch: You can do this by reaching out to influencers, running ads, and submitting your product to relevant publications. - Engage with the community: Answering questions, providing support, and collecting feedback. Pitfalls to avoid: - Launching too early: If your product is not ready, you will likely receive negative feedback and your launch will be unsuccessful. - Not promoting your launch: Obviously, nobody would know about it if you don't promote it! - Not engaging with the community: you wouldn't get feedback, which crucial to improve your product or even find out if it actually solves a problem. It might be tough, but I suggest using YouTube tech influencers to talk about the product and its upcoming release on Product Hunt. You need to be considerate of your tech community, as they will be using the API directly. To grab the attention of product owners and decision makers, you should make the launch easy to understand for people who aren't tech-savvy.
