Typora will give you a seamless experience as both a reader and a writer. It removes the preview window, mode switcher, syntax symbols of markdown source code, and all other unnecessary distractions.

Is Typora out of beta yet? I hunted this 4 years ago and I sincerely hope it will get an official 1.0 release one day. I lost count of all betas released in these last four years. https://www.producthunt.com/post...

@t55 It's apparently at 0.9.9.23 at the moment 😬

I love Typora! 🔥 I use it less since I switched to Notion but it’s my favorite text editor and markdown editor

@mrcalexandre What's better about Notion than Typora? I'm currently using Typora and always curious what's better out there.

This is probably one of the coolest text editors I've ever seen 🙌🏼. How are you planning to price it when it comes out of beta?

Only love for Typora ❤️

Pros:

Super simple way to write and view Markdown. Allows adding html code. Has themes (which you can also make yourself).

Cons:

None

Despite the minimal look, it has a lot of cool features: syntax highlighting for code blocks, slick diagrams and tables, a file organizer, and a cool outline tab.

Pros:

Minimalist, smooth, and packed with cool features. It blends markdown with a seamless preview instantly.

Cons:

None!

Frank Lämmer

I always hated those split-screen MD editors.

Pros:

Best "offline" markdown editor ever.

Cons:

Would like to pay for the product soon.

Jille van der Weerd

Love the product, will keep using it :)

Pros:

No clutter, doesn't distract from what I need to do: writing. Inline maths, great syntax highlighting

Cons:

None that I can think of right now.

I would like to see some exporters to other formats.

Pros:

Simple, includes stuff like mermaid etc

Cons:

Still needs a little stability improvments on mac

I like this editor but it's conversions using Pandoc is kinda buggy - Bear (for Mac / iPhone ,https://bear.app/ ) is a pretty good alternative, so is MarkText (https://github.com/marktext/mark...)
Stephane Piriou

Minimal but complete

Pros:

-Direct rendering of markdown -Still free -Lightweight -Has everything markdown has -Numerous export option -Customized styles

Cons:

None

I want to say that this app inspire a tech illiterate like me to learn and enjoy typing . I had so many frustated hours staring ms words or os pages. I used bear app and Notion, i paid for iWriter and Ulysesse but this, this app is revolutionary. Thank you! For the first time in a while now that I am excited to pay for something.

No other markdown editor can close to this one. Typora has to create more integration capabilities with other apps.

I'd love to see a CSV editor next.

Pros:

It has none of the features you DON"T want. Active release schedule.

Cons:

Developer refuses to take money. Makes me scared that the developer won't stay around the zero bugs that are remaining with the software.

After trying hundreds of Markdown editors out there, Typora is the best desktop editor. Had it supported iOS and Android, it would have been the only one note app that we need.
Michael Griffin

Good file management, elegant interface, a pleasure to write in.

Pros:

Excellent mix of a high-quality writing environment and a coding and markdown space.

Cons:

None so far!

I love it! Perfect for writing notes or documentation. I just hope it will not get subscription based

I wish they'd add collaboration features, like comments. Otherwise, it's amazing.
