I know TickTick for some years but never found it that useful to my workflow because of the lack of nested task.
Buuuuut... since this new feature was added, my god, this app became the best task manager of all. None, I mean absolutely none app give you this amount of flexibility and features to accomplish your goals. Plan and keep tracking of progress daily through pomodoros or timers? This app has it. Also need to adquire some habits in order to make goals real? This app has it. You want to make custom list to decide what’s next? It also has it!!!
I finally found home. Bye bye Things3, Todoist, OmifocusPro, 2Do, and everything else!
Thanks team! The idea of keeping both the check items and subtasks is cute and thoughtful. If what I need is a simple checklist, the check items in the task description can be enough without taking up the list space; while if I want more functions for subtasks, e.g. setting context for a subtask by using tags, the subtask could be very handy.
@new_user_12968e5b34 Glad to hear that you like the idea, and thank you very much for your support! The main concept embedded in the Task Nesting feature is getting things done. Distinguishing the contexts of different subtasks is one of the ways to get there. 😊
Hi guys 👋
We’re so excited to share this new vital feature at TickTick -- Task Nesting with everyone, because we’ve heard it so many times from our users that a solid Subtask foundation is absolutely needed for task management. Now, it’s finally time to meet!
Following the GTD concept, TickTick Task Nesting is designed to help you get more things done and take your productivity to the next level. Different from the previous Subtask feature (now renamed as Check Item) that only functions as a checklist with reminders, the new Subtask feature (the Task Nesting) allows you to divide, define, distribute and delegate your tasks in a more logical and flexible way. Here you can:
* Split your task into multi-layer subtasks (5 levels supported)!
* See a clear-cut structure showing the bonds between tasks.
* Manage your subtasks more easily by setting individual tags, priority and reminders.
* Assigning the subtasks to other members in a shared list for better team collaboration.
This is the holy grail of task manager functionality. Next to a Review system for done tasks this is THE functionality enabling real flow and preventing procrastination for me. Try it out and see for yourselves! TickTick just earned my support, the frequent update cycles really keep the app getting better and better without forcing you into any kind of philosophy. The software enables anything you might want to do with your tasks. Even more so with this update.
@mathias_rhein Thanks for your support, Mathias! Indeed, cutting a complex task into more digestible slices is an effective way to help beat procrastination. Putting these subtasks into time blocks at TickTick Calendar is another way to help too. Try it and manage your workflow even more easily.
