Track local time of people across time zones not abbreviation of time zones. Enter city, type a name and optionally attach a photo or type their X (Twitter) username. There! You can also add places or UTC offsets. All of them packed nicely in your menubar.
Hey PH,
I’m Dena!
I wanted to create an easy-to-use and native timezone tracker because I was tired of dealing with UTC offsets and trying to remember which of our friends are in which time zone. So, made There.
6 years ago, my co-creator Mo, had built an earlier version of There which was used by +17k people including people from Apple, Amazon, Zapier and more. But I wanted to build a native version which is beautiful and lightweight!
With There, you can add people with names and photos instead of just time zones. You can even fetch their photo by entering a Twitter (X) username. Plus, you can search by city names, countries, offsets, or even abbreviations like PST.
It's open source and written in Swift and SwiftUI.

I hope you enjoy using it 🫡
Feel free to ask me any questions!
@denasohrabi
Thank you for making a new version of There after 6 years! It's a really great app. Well done! I love using it to track time zones of people I frequently interact with. It's so handy.
The previous version that I had built back then was around 200 mb in size and required an account and network access to work. But this app since it's native is only 5 mb and it's light on RAM while in the background. Also it looks beautiful!
@denasohrabi@prad_vv Great question, we don't have a plan for monetizing it now, we just love to make this app for people who need it! Our paid product is https://inline.chat which is a chat app for teams.
A return of a classic! Must-have for remote teams!
I see that this is open source... I wonder how hard it would be to rebuild this as a Raycast extension?
@chrismessina Thank you Chris for your support in all the years! ❤️🫡 What do you imagine the Raycast integration to be like? We'll build it if it's feasible.
@morajabi thoughts:
1. You could do a lot with a basic Scripting Addition; maybe someone from the community could build it for you.
2. The entire experience could probably be rebuilt in Raycast, since it offers menubar extras and various UIs, like the List Item , that could have a list of your colleagues:
Submitted as a feature request for @denasohrabi!
Looks really awesome - I would love to switch to this. Please considering adding such a slider which is an essential feature! :) https://x.com/simmenfl/status/18...
Congrats, @denasohrabi ! 🎉 There looks sleek and super handy for keeping track of time zones. Love that it's lightweight and easy to use. The open-source aspect is a nice bonus too!
Wow, Dena! There sounds like the perfect solution to the constant headache of managing time zones. I love how user-friendly and visually appealing it is with the ability to add photos and fetch them via Twitter usernames. The search functionality with city names or abbreviations like PST is a game-changer! Also, the fact that it’s open source and built with Swift and SwiftUI is impressive. Kudos to you and Mo for making such a thoughtful and practical tool! 🌟 Definitely giving it an upvote! 🚀 @denasohrabi
Congratulations on your launch @denasohrabi and the Team! It's exciting to see how your tool can help users track local times across various cities without the confusion of time zone abbreviations. I’m curious, how does your application handle daylight saving time changes for different locations?
Love the concept! As someone who works with international teams, this could be a real time-saver. One suggestion: it'd be awesome if you could integrate calendar syncing to show when contacts are available or in meetings. Also, any plans for a mobile version? That would be super handy for quick checks on the go. Keep up the great work!
@andyroamer Thank you for your comment Andy! Great suggestion, Mobile version as widget is in my plan for later updates. Let me know if you have any other suggestions!
Congrats @denasohrabi@morajabi launching There! It's such a simple yet powerful tool that makes managing time zones so much easier, especially when working with people across the globe. The personalized touch of adding names, photos, and even social handles is a great idea.
Congratulations @denasohrabi and team on your launch! It's great to see how your solution can let people track local times across cities sans time zone acronyms.
I've been using There since it's initial launch, years ago, and I'm loving the new native version!! It's surprisingly hard to find a visually appealing and minimalist time zone tracker app, and I love the easy access from the menu bar
@orangejuice_1 Thank you Olivia for being such a long time user and supporter! It means a lot to hear from you 🫡 Please let me know if you need anything else added
I always struggle with keeping track of time zones, especially when working with friends or teammates across the world. Love the idea of adding photos and Twitter usernames. Congrats!😊😊
Awesome idea! How does it handle daylight saving time changes, and can you customize notifications for different time zones? Excited to see how this makes staying connected easier!
@allen_xu1130 It handles daylight saving times and kept up to date automatically because it uses Apple's system APIs that are always updated automatically by Apple.
There sounds like a brilliant solution to the often tedious task of managing time zones. I love how you’ve made it more personal and intuitive by allowing users to add names and photos and even fetch photos using Twitter (X) usernames. The ability to search by various criteria like city names and offsets is incredibly useful. Could you please share what inspired the use of Twitter (X) usernames for fetching photos and how you envision this feature enhancing the user experience?
@hamna_malik Thank you for your comment, Hamma! Actually, whenever I want to add something that uses photos, I prefer it to be linked to social platforms like X. For my own use of the app, I needed to see the time zones of friends who were mostly on Twitter, and it was necessary.
@denasohrabi Thanks for the insights! If you could hit ‘Notify Me’ on the 'Coming Soon' badge next to my name for InterWiz AI updates, that would be awesome. Can’t wait to hear what you think when we launch!
