2 colleagues and I made this a while ago to be able to play with the effects of certain marketing efforts and to determine content marketing ROI in terms of visitor growth over time. AMA.

@adamscochran Hey Adam, yeah there are a few kinks that need ironing out. But I wanted to push this out and have smarter people than myself assist with the smoothing out of the multipliers. I've included all the calculations on the page. Hopefully with time this will get more accurate.

As a marketing professional who has spent a lot of time looking into content marketing I find this a pretty interesting tool. I'd say a lot of the growth calculations are fairly accurate, the only thing that seems to be a bit off is that growth hits zero fairly quickly if you have a 1-2 person content team and don't do any advertising spend. Really high quality content from 1-2 bloggers can still make an impact (this is the model HelpScout follows). It seems the calculation issue comes from grouping "content staff" in as part of the promotional budget, while it should still be seen as a monthly cost, the man-hours used to create content are more valuable and impactful per dollar than something like PR spend! Great tool so far though, I hope you continue to iterate on it!
