Kinescope is the answer to the recently updated YouTube app for AppleTV by Google. It's been a disaster no one liked: Google broke how the navigation works & migrated their Material Design in a hostile manner which isn't appropriate at all.

Apps should be native, simple, convenient. Kinescope was created to make our lives a bit more enjoyable.

Hey ProductHunt, We're happy to announce our new creation — Kinescope. Kinescope is a native AppleTV app to replace the current version of Google's YouTube and to become a daily habit watching YouTube in front of your couch. Kinescope is superior, because: — Completely thought-through and learned on Google's mistakes; — Built based users' feedback, but with a vision; — Meaningful, convenient navigation that makes sense; — Relevant feed exploration; — No Material Design; — Native; — Free. We plan NO MONETIZATION as we're not marketers and we just don't know how do it. We also don't collect any data or analytics — we're too dumb to do it :) So, yeah, no hidden catch, no strings attached — just ~freelove~ simple as that. @inlinecoder any timescales on making this available? I DESPERATELY want to ditch the official app.. it’s just horrible! Your attempt looks beautiful!

@durosity hey Mike, Glad you're with me here. Can't make any estimates atm unfortunately — I'm busy with a full-time job and it's hard to dedicate a lot of time right now to make a serious impact to Kinescope. Anyway, Kinescope is work in progress. More over, I have a daily motivation to finish it as Google's YouTube drives me crazy!

@inlinecoder oh indeed, I can imagine it’d be rather time consuming! If you want any help testing when it gets to that point lemme know, I’m fairly competent at such things! In the mean time I’m sending the link to everyone I know in the hopes they’ll contribute on patreon like I am.
