Tella for Mac lets you record incredible videos, direct from your dock. It's packed with neat features, recording settings, and it's fully hooked up to Tella's web app so you can edit and share instantly. Available for macOS Ventura (13.0 or later).
Since Day 1 a Mac app has always been on Tella's cards. But towards the end of last year @happylinks1 tried to learn Swift.
Fortunately chatGPT has made a lot of progress in that time so @happylinks1 managed to finish the app by asking it to write the code for him.
It's fun to use, records in super high quality, and FINALLY you can see yourself while recording :)
AI might have helped us build the app, but there's no AI in it yet... There are some other cool features tho:
- Speaker notes
- Area selection
- Window selection
- Preview styles
- Multi-clip recording
- System audio recording
- Quality controls
- A nice dock icon
- A button that lets you message @happylinks1 24/7
Tella's sweet spot are videos you're sharing with customers. That could be a demo on Twitter or an online course or a pitch to a new customer. When you want to videos to stand out, use Tella :)
Anyway, try it out and let us know in the comments what you think and how you'd like us to improve it.
Send zoom recordings? Nah.
Send looms? Nah.
I Tell'a the people I need to collab with.
Been following the company early on, and an early user mainly because Loom was very heavy on my Mac, and must say the guys are outdoing themselves. I love everything they do and can HIGHLY recommend it to everyone looking for an alternative that works, and it's actually DOPE.
Keep it up lads!
Had a chance to play around since last week. Although I prefer working in a browser for most of the tools, when it comes to video recording and editing a local software is unbeatable. And tella for Mac won't disappoint you, I´ll promise.
Neat and shiny, as we know it from the browser extension now also with good performance which when editing videos is important.
Congratulations on the launch of Tella's Mac app! Can you share any plans on integrating AI in the future, and what other features can we expect to see added to Tella (other than completing the code)?
We've been thinking about this a lot recently @tjerkienator later this year we want to try using AI to automatically edit your recordings. So all you need to do is record your screen and cam, then Tella makes it look great with different layouts and transitions.
@matcha_anil Loom is nice for simple internal videos, Tella is best for video you share externally - where you want to make an impression. Things like product demos, tutorials, and courses.
