Synaptiq began as a personal learning tool made by a UCSF med student & Stanford neurosurgery resident, which got him a 100th percentile licensing exam score. It has now grown into an AI-powered medical training platform that boosts memory retention by 7X.

Hello Product Hunt! My name is Ryan – I’m a doctor, and the CEO & co-founder of Synaptiq (YC S23). Synaptiq began as a tool I built for my own studies at UCSF Medical School, which helped me score in the 100th percentile on the Step 1 licensing exam and get accepted into Stanford’s neurosurgery residency. I realized this resource could fundamentally transform medicine – a field that still trains doctors with archaic tools like textbooks – so I dropped out of residency to expand the platform with my two best childhood friends who are incredible engineers. Synaptiq has grown into an AI-powered medical training platform that improves learning speed and memory retention by 7X. Just a few months since launch, Synaptiq already has thousands of users in 220+ medical schools and hospitals across 95 countries, and is growing 380% month-over-month. Synaptiq plans to become the AI infrastructure for the $110B medical education industry, leading to better physicians, a more efficient healthcare system, and improved patient care. We’re so excited to share Synaptiq with you all and would love your feedback as you check out the product!

@ryanphelps This is a great idea and congrats on the launch! What would be the advantages of this product compared to a flashcard training app like Anki? Super excited for the future of this!

Congratulations ! what are the most powerful mecanisme you use to increase memory retention ? How do you measure and track memory retention ?

Hi Ryan! Medicine + IT is future. I wish you a good luck and congratulate on the launch. I liked your idea, your nice website but I don't understand your monetization model. I think you can also promote it not for doctors but for people who wants to have some basic knowledges in medicine. Great work!

@anna_kasumova Hi Anna – that's a great point! Synaptiq can detect hundreds of thousands of knowledge gaps, and adapts to each learner real-time, so it can provide personalized support those with very basic medical knowledge like you mentioned, as well as those midway through training, as well as those at the frontiers of advanced subspecialties!
Synaptiq's journey from a personal learning tool to an AI-powered medical training platform is remarkable! How did a med student and neurosurgery resident collaborate to create this innovation? Can you elaborate on how Synaptiq's AI technology enhances memory retention by 7X and contributes to medical training?
