Today I'm pleased to announce the launch of Summit by Ministry of Bits. After decades in meetings, Summit is the tool I had always wanted. I hope that it brings great things to your life, whether it's improved meeting discipline or simply making your meetings as effective as possible.
Congratulations on the launch! Can I ask you what are the key difference between you and the competitors?

@diegodau There are several key differentiators with Summit versus others. The first is that this is an app dedicated to managing and running your meetings and as such is specifically tailored to these tasks. There's lots of tools and solutions in this space such as general note taking apps, but because Summit ties into the particulars of managing meetings, it is automatically set for creating agendas, capturing attendance, decisions, action items and binned topics. This makes things much easier when running a meeting as it's several steps now removed versus say a general purpose notes app where you're defining the meeting template as you go. The other really important aspect of Summit is the ability to quickly and easily send out the meeting minutes once the session concludes. Sometimes this is the hardest part of having a meeting and doesn't always happen or is done poorly. But this is one of the most important steps in order to have effective meetings. The other important feature that Summit brings to the table is that by using it, it automatically corrals you down the road to having effective meetings. For example, the fact that you need to create a meeting purpose, agenda, and determine appropriate attendees in advance, sets you up for success through being proactive and spending time thinking about the meeting before scheduling it. This same motif applies to running and concluding meetings. By simply using Summit and it's workflow, you're most of the way towards having an effective meeting. I could go on and on here as I feel like I'm just getting started, but I don't want to give you too much of a novella. But let me depart with a couple of important points on Summit. Meetings take people and time, both of which cost a business (e.g. people don't work for free). Even if Summit improves your efficiency or productivity even a small bit, but it will likely cause a much bigger improvement for many folks, this improvement is compounded across all the people in the meeting. The final thought I'll leave you with is that of the relatively small number of apps that cater to managing meetings, almost all of them are Cloud and subscription based. In comparison Summit offers a one-time purchase for major versions with substantial discounts for upgrades but also offers subscriptions for those who prefer that model. Also from a privacy and security perspective, your Summit meeting data lives solely on your PC/Mac and doesn't live on someone else's servers in the Cloud.

Ah, finally a tool to help me avoid those endless, unproductive meetings. Summit, the hero we needed but didn't know existed. Giving it a test run.

Congrats on the launch! How does this make meetings more effective? And how does it improve meeting discipline?

@cwbuilds1 In short, by using the app, you'll automatically be using some of the best known methods for having effective meetings. This includes actions such as crafting a well formed agenda and purpose (versus just a meeting invite with no info), having your agenda items be confined to specific time boundaries (versus more loosely time defined agenda items that can easily run over time, cause your meeting to go long, etc.) and being able to track some of the most important aspects of a meeting such as attendance, decisions, action items, binned items and meeting notes (versus not tracking any of this and having the facilitator and attendees work from memory, either long term or in recreating these items later). Things don't end there in that by using Summit, creating your meeting minutes become seamless and take mere seconds (versus the alternative that can take a half an hour or more). Of course, Summit is just a tool to help make your meetings more effective and ultimately some of the discipline will come down to the facilitator as well. I'm just making the case that as a facilitator, if you use Summit, you'll be much more set for success than otherwise. And if you're one of the rare folks that is hitting it on all cylinders already as a facilitator, then Summit will simply make the process easier and faster for you.
