Hey Product Hunter! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Peter, one of the earliest team members at StreamAlive. This is our third launch on Product Hunt and I'm so grateful to the users for the support, feedback, and insights that they have given us on our product. Your comments have helped to shape the roadmap of our product and helped us reach over 5,000 users. So what do we do? StreamAlive turns your chat stream into visual interactions. Using the simplicity of the chat, comments are turned into interactive polls, quizzes, rating polls, word clouds, spinner wheels, interactive maps, emoji explosions, comment call-outs, and more. StreamAlive also automatically captures questions and links and saves them for you so you never miss an audience question. You can get started for free with our generous free plan that allows you to capture unlimited comments from upto 25 attendees and turn them into unlimited visualizations. One of the biggest requests we get is "can I use StreamAlive for XYZ" meeting or streaming platform. So far we have supported the following platforms because they allow a bot to enter the chat, read the messages, and allow us to turn your chat stream into visual interactions: - Zoom - Google Meet - Microsoft Teams - YouTube Live - Twitch The challenge with other platforms like Restream, Kick, StreamYard, LinkedIn Live, Vimeo, WebEx and many others is that they don't allow us to connect to their platform to read the chat. With our new StreamAlive Chrome Extension, all that changes. Install it here: https://chromewebstore.google.co... You simply add the StreamAlive extension and when it detects that you are on of the supported meeting or streaming URLs, it pops up a notification asking if you want to read the chat and turn the chat into polls, word clouds The StreamAlive Chrome Extension currently supports live sessions run on these URLs: - webex.com - restream.io - meet.google.com - streamyard.com - teams.microsoft.com - vimeo.com - airmeet.com - linkedin.com - youtube.com Using Restream you can pull the chat in from dozens of different platforms, including TikTok Live, which means StreamAlive also works with those platforms. We are working to add more platforms in the coming weeks, including ON24, Hopin, RingCentral, BigMarker, CVent, Goldcast, Hubilo, Zuddl, CloudPresenter, Sequel, and more. Do take it for a spin in your next livestream or Google Meet work meeting, you won't be disappointed! We'd also love to hear your feedback and comments, especially on what kind of chat visualizations you'd like to see and what platforms you'd like to see us support. Thank you!

👋 enthusiast of beautiful products. Thanks for stopping by. I’m Lux Narayan, CEO & co-founder at StreamAlive. I am biased but I believe our team has built something beautiful here that will change the nature of live interactions and conversation. With this extension, we move closer to our vision of transforming group interaction anywhere that people meet, stream, or present. In effect, defining a language for live. If you didn’t know it already, I’d like to share how StreamAlive was an accidental side-track from a different journey… In 2020, for various reasons including a a medical emergency in the family, I took a break from work. This was around the time the world went into lockdown due to Covid. It was a surreal time to say the very least. I used my newfound “free time” to write a book that had been in my head and in many scattered digital notes for many years. It was published in 2021, and is called “Name, Place, Animal, Thing: An Inspiring Fable for Grown-Ups about Hope, Positivity, and Living your Best Life”. At that time, I didn’t know the first thing about writing, publishing, and marketing a book. So, to learn these skills, I ended up attending six online classes delivered over 56 live sessions on Zoom, YouTube Live, and Facebook Live. Mostly on Zoom. Across all of these, I noticed some recurring patterns… The class sizes ranged from 20 to 1200 but the one constant in all of these sessions was that the chat often went by faster than the presenters could keep pace. As a result, 95% of the audience was usually ignored and as a consequence, disengaged. This was especially true when the presenter asked questions like Where are you joining us from?” or “What is your #1 takeaway from today?” People enthusiastically responded, only to be ignored! In a few instances, the presenter would try to encourage the audience to “participate” by installing an app, entering a code at another website, or doing other forms of browser gymnastics. For every person who correctly followed these instructions, five others would be thoroughly confused, and four others would simply enter their answers directly in the native chat itself- on Zoom, YouTube Live, etc. In short, people were super active on the chat. Nevertheless, they were disengaged. This got us thinking: Wouldn’t it be great to have a product that could simply read the native chat on the platform of choice and translate it into a real-time, context-aware, visual “voice of the audience?” Could we move sessions from talk-talk-talk-talk to talk-listen-talk-listen? This was the beginning of StreamAlive. I reconnected with my co-founders and ex-colleagues at our previous startup and we got together on a new adventure. StreamAlive now supports many live session platforms, and the vision is to support pretty much every major live platform out there. For many of these, we plan tolaunch bespoke apps to make it even easier for our users. The first of these was our app on Zoom. This Chrome extension is the next one - towards taking StreamAlive everywhere. We truly believe in what it says on our company T Shirts: ” Connect & Interact & Include & Engage.” We believe in our mission of making large-scale conversations human again through inclusivity, and of making live events and livestreams alive. Please share any feedback or comments you may have. Thank you. Namaste!

I've been using StreamAlive for a while now, and the Chrome extension makes it much easier to connect to my sessions. One click is all it takes to connect. Loves this!
