Hi everyone, I'm Harrison! My background is in scaling customer support, success, and experience at (mostly crypto) startups! After being let go from my job in June of last year I decided (with my 2nd child due in 2 months) it was the perfect time to finally launch my own business 😅 Needless to say, I struggled, and I wound up 6 months later with a graveyard of failed projects and far too many domain names... but more on that in a moment... In March 2024, through my network I became aware of a cool project with a domain name similar to one I had acquired at auction during the aforementioned "founder ADD" months. I wanted to use their product for my domain - yes, another idea! But as it turns out, they wanted to use my domain for their product! Selling that domain for a 4-figure sum opened my eyes to the world of domain name investing and the potential value a single domain can have. But I kept coming back to the rest of my domains -- What was I going to do with the now dozens of domains that I had acquired? After a few months of diving deep into the domain investing space, I learned I could either park them, hold them and wait for them to sell, develop them into a business, or let them expire. That's pretty much it. In the domain industry today, so much of the focus is on registering and selling (and ultimately on developing) domains. Hardly anyone pays attention to parking or renewals. Just about everyone accepts renewals as a cost of business and pays about $10 per non-premium domain per year to renew. For a portfolio of 1000 names it will cost a domain investor $10,000 a year to renew! Or they stop renewing and "drop" the name. Most domain investors have a few hundred names at least, and some have tens of thousands - so these fees can be quite significant. But what about "domain parking"? It's in a pretty sorry state these days! It looks like nobody's put any effort into it in 30 years! The "best" options out there display ugly header banners advertising primarily the hosting provider (not the domain) and some google ads nobody clicks. If they even see them. But when I visit parked pages I see nothing - no ads, no content - because of my ad blocker... And from what I understand, almost nobody makes any money with these sites unless you're parking an ultra-premium domain. Even then you make very little because almost anyone who's looking at the site is looking to buy the domain, not clicking random ads on some parked page (if they even see it, and "type-in traffic" has all but dried up). So it turns out the only time it makes sense to hold a domain is if you're sure it's worth a lot of money and you're fine paying the renewal fees for possibly years. And then it hit me - what if I could "stake" my unused domain names, bring them organic traffic, and then monetize that traffic without having to build 100+ different websites, so I could offset the $1000+ in renewals I'll pay this year? Would anyone else be interested? It turns out, a lot of people are. The *Number One* problem almost 40% of domain investors have is renewal fees (Great timing with this poll, Michael!): https://x.com/MichaelCyger/statu... And so StakeWeb was born. StakeWeb helps you improve the organic traffic of your entire domain portfolio and monetize unused and unsold domains automatically. The goal is to help offset renewal costs and make dropping domains a choice. Most domains are being parked only to be sold, but brokerage fees through traditional parking services add up fast. We're not in that business; any leads generated through your sites will go right to you, and we won't keep them or advertise to them. Absolutely no exceptions. We provide robust tracking on domain traffic and sources, which can further enhance the value of the domain when it sells. This is my first Product Hunt launch, it's my first real MVP launch, and we're just getting started! Future updates will include additional monetization paths and enhanced features to further maximize your domain's potential. Join me on this journey to transform the domain parking landscape! Thank you for reading my story! If you'd like to support this launch, here's how you can best do so: ✅ Say Hi! Drop in the thread, ask me anything! (almost anything). 🕵️ Check the product out - I'm giving PH users a sneak-peak of the app before I close the "free" tier for good (no date but I will leave it open for at least the month of August 2024) ✉️ Let me know what you think! Email hello@stakeweb.com or message me on twitter @stakeweb or @thecustomerguy - I'd love any feedback - criticism, praise, questions, feature requests, you name it. 👍 Follow StakeWeb on twitter @StakeWeb for more updates! I'm really excited and grateful to hopefully contribute something valuable to two really cool communities I've found a passion for and been welcomed warmly into. I have many ideas for where I'd like this to go based on the tremendous feedback we've already received, and we're just getting started! Thank you again 🙏 Harrison

@stakeweb @thecustomerguy @dan_mindru Thanks Dan! Much appreciated!

@harrison_dimon @stakeweb Congratulations on the launch of StakeWeb! This innovative approach to domain parking is sure to help many maximize the value of their domain portfolios. The features look promising, especially the high-quality ads and full tracking capabilities. Best of luck!
Lakshya Singh
This is really interesting. But I am quite confused, is it a product or a service? Congrats on the launch though!
Harrison Dimon
@lakshya_singh It's a productized service! Just kidding? I actually don't know! I consider it a product like a "saas" product is a product. There's nothing tangible but it "does something". A service would (to me) imply that I'm intervening in some way I suppose? At the end of the day, the service I'm providing is developing the product further 🙃
Ramy Wafaa
150 Domains coming your way! I've been buying every domain i like .. this seems like a very nice idea!
Harrison Dimon
@ramywafaa WOAH Heck yes! I love it Ramy! Would love for you to reach out if you need anything or have any comments!
Derek
How are they monetized?? Are these landing pages with ads? The video and website don’t explain clearly. And from the pics, Eureka.xyz goes to a Sedo parking page. Get Rich Eventually has a banner, but not ads. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Harrison Dimon
@derkolstad Hi Derek good questions! Not landing pages w/ ads (like everyone else haha) - blog posts with affiliate links! The .xyz domain was an example name for the demo to show the adding process. You're right the video doesn't cover the output on the landing pages. TY for the feedback!
Derek
@harrison_dimon Ahhh ok. I wanted to see a product demo that page that said “Domains so easy you’ll say Eureka!” 😄 If you own the domain, you should put a demo on it.
Harrison Dimon
@derkolstad 😄 haha unfortunately no. Wasted opportunity!
Michael Cyger
Congrats on your launch, Harrison. Glad to hear the X poll I ran gave you inspiration to build something. How long does it take to go from domain name to built website on your platform? Is it an instantaneous process? Is there a sample website that shows the full power of the platform in website build-out? Thanks and best of luck with the promotion!
Harrison Dimon
@michaelcyger Thanks Michael! I had the idea already but I was just about to giving up on it when you ran that poll :) Amazing questions. Once you have pointed your domain at the DNS information we provide, you'll need to go back into the domain in your dashboard and set a category and subcategory. You can optionally set the meta title and description for SEO as well. Ideally all of that will be automated in a future version (so as soon as the DNS is moved you're live). Right now there's the manual step but content will generate instantly once that step is complete. You can see an example at getricheventually .com! Thank you so much and look forward to any feedback you may have!
René N
As someone with multiple empty domains this is a really nice idea 🤩🤩 I will for sure check this out 🤘 Congratulations on the launch 🚀
Harrison Dimon
@rene_nielsen_dk Thanks Rene! Please do and let me know if you need anything at all!
Christofer Huber
@harrison_dimon I really like the idea, have already signed up and added my first domain. A few days ago another project was launched with a similar idea. But they did not offer the option to generate a landing page, so I was stuck with the old dodgy landing pages from the hoster. How exactly can someone make money from this? The site mentions affiliate links. Are these links somehow related to the theme of the domain or are they just randomly added? Congrats on the launch 🚀
Harrison Dimon
@crebuh Hey Christofer! Exactly as you described! The affiliate links are injected into the content and related topically to the category and subcategory you set on the domain. I'm working on expanding the available affiliates and categories / subcategories rapidly over the coming weeks and months Great question!
Pavel Bocharov
This is interesting! I have a couple of good unused domains, will check out your service ASAP. Congrats on the launch, upvoted!
Harrison Dimon
@pavel_bocharov Thanks so much Pavel please let me know what you think!
Alex AI
Massive support for the project! Like the main concept! I have a friend who is owning more than 400 domains. And pretty much he is losing money from the domains. Probably you have found a solution to this problem.
Harrison Dimon
@byalexai Wow that's amazing. Sounds like it might be a fit! I'd love to help him out and talk through it more if he has any questions. Unless it's "your friend" in which case, thank "your friend"! ;)
KJ
hey Harrison, this sounds great in theory- though how would you generate traffic for all these domains?
Harrison Dimon
@growthdreamer22 Hey KJ! It's great - the traffic comes from the blog posts themselves - just organic SEO. So over time traffic will increase naturally!
KJ
@harrison_dimon Hey Harrison, you have my best wishes. Though as someone who has been in SEO for a decade, I can tell you, without the right SEO strategy this wouldn't be quite easy.
Harrison Dimon
@growthdreamer22 Thanks KJ, we'll be growing and evolving the platform over time to make sure we do the best we can. It's definitely not easy, however simple it sounds, I agree :)
Andrew Reddikh
Congratulations on the launch! Great idea! I'm happy to start utilizing my 20 free domains with your product 🚀
Harrison Dimon
@andrew.red Thanks Andrew!
Pedro Ladeira
Here we go!!!!! I'm glad to see your launch here, Harrison!!! I just watched the demo video and it's amazing, the platform. Congratssss 🥳🥳🚀🚀
Harrison Dimon
@pepeladeira Thanks Pedro! I tried to do it in 1 take and ALMOST got there...and then about 18 takes later we got it. That was honestly one of the most stressful parts. Appreciate you!
Micael de P.
Superb idea ! I was looking for something like that, not even to monetize, just to have an idea of how much type-in traffic my parked domains got. I don't think you show what the resulting website/blog post looks like though !
Harrison Dimon
@micadep Thanks Micael, you can check my "canary page" out at getricheventually .com (seriously haha) but that's a great point. Honestly I think there's a lot more to be done on beautifying the landers and I just forgot to add one to the PH post. Whoops!
Till Kahlen
Cool tool! Might try out. In the meantime, I'll put StakeWeb into my Domain Tool Directory (domainerskit . com)
Harrison Dimon
@tillgg WOW Thank you Till! Incredible! I'll reach out too if that's okay :)
Brad S Konia
This looks cool, but in addition to the auto-generated affiliate links, we should be able to enter a list of domain names we want StakeWeb to link to. This would allow us to use our parked domains to generate backlinks to our active domains.
Harrison Dimon
@brad_s_konia Hey Brad that's a great suggestion! Want to avoid problems where we start potentially creating a PBN so I'll have to see how we can look at integrating this into what we're looking to do. It's a really good idea!
Andriy Semenets
Congratulations on the launch! Are there any manual settings available for the type of content being generated and published? Thanks.
Harrison Dimon
@semanser Hey Andriy - Yep, you can configure the category and subcategory to align with topic-appropriate affiliates (more coming soon *TM) and also set the Meta description and keywords for the site. I'm actually working to automate some of that so would love any comments or feedback you have there!
Dan Holdsworth
Such a good idea! I have so many domains sitting around doing nothing, and I can't wait to give this a go!
Harrison Dimon
@grapplingdev Dan let me know if you need anything I'd love it if you did!
Matt Jansen
This looks like an interesting way to earn some income with a passive asset, just signed up for the lifetime deal and added my first domain. Interested to see how it goes.
Harrison Dimon
@matt_ph WOW. Thanks Matt that's incredible! It's going to be epic!
WebZ DeZign
Super happy to be in early! I've thought about doing this for my 200+ domains, but just figured the only thing out there was the junk I run into on occasion. I have high hopes for this startup, and I am never wrong. Signed, Waco.LOL
Harrison Dimon
@webz_dezign haha Thank you very much!
Kyrylo Silin
Hey Harrison, Can you share more about how the organic traffic improvement works? What strategies are used to attract visitors to these parked domains? Congrats on the launch!
Harrison Dimon
@kyrylosilin Hey absolutely! It's nothing fancy - just basic SEO. Helpful content + getting it indexed by making sure it's useful (according to the indexer). We've got a few tools for this we use. But deeper in your question is another important comment. There are some shortcuts you can take in the SEO world - I've already been approached multiple times to set up things like "private blogging networks" (PBNs) as a way to "turbocharge" the SEO scores for hosted pages. But it turns out, this can have really bad consequences for the sites themselves, especially for future owners of the domain. We're going to avoid all of that and keep things totally above-board for people entrusting us with their parked domains. Great question
