Hello ProductHunt! We are very excited to announce Sketchfab VR here today. We've spent the past 4 years building the best and easiest way to publish 3D and virtual content on the web. We believe VR is able to provide an amazing browsing experience for the 500k+ models which have been published to date. Give it a try and let us know your thoughts.

Not really into 3D but following these guys since a while and they keep adding new features it seems (recently saw @potus 3D face showing on Wikipedia !). Very cool.

@alban accidently found that you've got a job board for clients to meet modellers / designers. Neat. And I've seen 3D artists referring to their Sketchfab profiles on UpWork, so it's definitely picking up !

Just tried it on my Cardboard and it looks awesome! Congratulations and keep up the great work!

I tried this with my Google Cardboard and I love it! Best VR I have seen so far. The office is going crazy over this. I see a lot of models to do this : could we get of sense of how many you have and will be having/hosting/producing? Seriously awesome!

@nicoprincen Thanks Nico! We recently passed 500k 3D files, they are pretty much all ready to view in VR. We don't produce content ourselves, it's a publishing platform for anyone who has made 3D content and want to publish it online and produce and awesome VR experience in 1 click.

I think VR is going to impact a lot not only in the tech industry but in the marketing industry as well, I can see that Sketchfab is going in the right direction, 3D content for better engagement and communication to the final user, like 3D marketing, nice product! 😊

@bntzio Thanks Enrique! Sketchfab is indeed used by a bunch of brands, to unveil new products in a more engaging way. Imagine if every time Tesla released a car, they published a virtual version of it on Sketchfab? Well, here is Tesla Model X :) https://sketchfab.com/models/36e...

This is so good! The "View in VR" button with a link makes things so simple. It would be great to have a playlist function (or something like a "Next Random Scene" button) so the users could switch between different VR scenes without disruption. I'm wondering are there also ways or standards to walk around or interact within these scenes, rather than just fixed in one spot. But I'm guessing that's more for complex and bigger scenes?
alban
@randomor We do have a VR playlist function, try sketchfab.com/vr :) We are working on improving the navigation options, but it really depends on the headset you have. We do have plenty of large / complexe scenes on Sketchfab too, and ultimately you'll be able to walk in them as you would in real life. Here is a cool demo with HTC:
