Hey Product Hunt 👋 @mahyad, @aliatttar, and @sauravmitra here – we’re back for another launch! SigmaOS Airis is a whole new way to experience the internet; maybe a smarter way! 8 months ago, we released the MVP version of Airis and were blown away by the overwhelming love from everyone. Today, we’re excited to launch SigmaOS Airis Alpha 😻 Can’t wait for all of you give these 5 amazing Airis features a try: 🧭 Look it up Got a question, an idea, a thought? Airis can search the internet for you and build you a nice starting point. You can ask things like “What’s trending on Hackernews today” or “Where’s a nice Italian place for a date night in London”. 🤏 Interactive summary Just pinch on your trackpad to summarize any webpage! 💬 Ask Ask Airis any question about the page you’re on. 🪄 Rename Magically rename a page by locking it 👀 Magic preview Get a preview of any link by just holding cmd and hovering on it. 🔍 New Lazy search A refreshed command centre for all your searches and commands But that’s not all this launch brings. We’ve now made unlimited workspaces, co-browsing, and Auto-sync FREE! 🤩 You also get limited usage to all of the new Airis features on the Free membership. We still have a Pro and a Max membership, because we want to always make our priority YOU, and not third party deals! 😊 On the Pro membership you get high usage access to all of Airis features. You can join the waitlist for FREE access until we are out of Alpha. On the Max membership you’ll get unlimited access to Airis features, as well as access to advanced models like GPT-4, Claude 3 Haiku, and more. We are giving the first 500 lovely community members of Product Hunt an expedited access to the Pro membership. 💌 Download the app, and use coupon EARLYBIRD on the checkout Have a blast! 🙌

@mahyad I love SigmaOS and how responsive the team is to all the silly questions and issues I'm raising. Awesome work, thank you! PS. I still reaaaaalyyyyy need that Strongbox extension support. ;)

@mahyad Used this coupon! I can move away from Arc! BTW, I chose Personal Max during checkout, but seems everywhere (both SigmaOS Account Information panel and Stripe Billing page) says it’s Personal Pro.
Saurav Mitra
@mahyad @singee Heya, the coupon is actually only for Pro, so looks like it might have switched you to Pro. I've changed it now so that this will clearer in the checkout process (code won't work on Max)

I would never switch from Coke to Pepsi. Or to Adidas from Nike. Or from Apple to Samsung. But… I did switch from Arc to SigmaOS. I found it back in 2021, flipped back to Chrome and then ended up using Arc for almost a year. However, I fell out of love with UI of having all my apps in one browser. It’s clunky and Notion works better as a desktop app. So after a brief stint with Safari, which continues to lack advanced browser features, I decided to give SigmaOS another try about a month ago. Now, I’m a happy user! It’s a great browser specifically for browsing and I continue using most of my apps as desktop apps. Admitedly, I’m not so keen on Airis features but I love separate workspaces and intented tab, and the new lazy search. If you’re using Safari or Opera (why?) I would drop everything and give SigmaOS a try. If you’re using Chrome/Firefox with a lot of niche extensions, give a try but not all extensions may work. Lastly, if you’re using Arc, I’d encourage you give SigmaOS a try like I did. The products (not the storytelling) are nearly equally good and it comes down to preferences that are worth exploring!

@temirlan Thanks for the support! Glad you're enjoying SigmaOS, try out the Airis features as they develop and keep us updated on what you think 😊
Mahyad
@temirlan Really appreciate the honest thoughts, and your continued support for all this time. Hope to have you around for as long as possible :)
Congrats on the launch @mahyad and Team Sigma. 🚀 I wholeheartedly thank you for making a great alternative ❤ to Chrome, whose overwhelming dominance is not good for users like us. What would you say is Sigma's unique value pop or differentiation? What you're doing with Airis is smart! Thanks to ChatGPT and the plethora of AI tools, we're all being retrained in how give instructions and ask for help. And you're tapping into this new habit. Great work, Team Sigma!
Mahyad
@jgani Thanks for the kind words, we really trying to build a much better browsing experience on the internet for all of you on the internet with our tiny team of 4 😊 The main difference for us is we always try to match your intention, on the browser. Create workspaces when you have specific flows, use lazy search to also find your commands and tabs, and now use Airis to have more context about your work on the internet

Wow what a great new user experience. Tabs as tasks is a super neat idea. I think this will be great for my sanity.
Mahyad
@stash_new Really appreciate the support, thank you for the kind words!

I'm a pretty big Arc fanboy at this point. Can anyone that's used Arc recently and SigmaOS tell me which one has the edge and why? What are the key differences?
Jeff Reckseidler
@kurtisdane arc to me - feature bloat. Its confusing. SigmaOS has a clear thesis and therefore is easy to use / sips resources.
Kurtis Dane
@jreckseidler Thanks for the response! Okay, I'm definitely checking out SigmaOS based on that. Since I've been with Arc for a while, I don't think I've noticed too much bloat. That said, I only use a small percentage of it's features so... 😆 I do see Arc unshipping features almost weekly now so I'm thinking they've heard this feedback too!
Jeff Reckseidler
As y’all are well aware I am a massive fanboy of SigmaOS. It was and still is time to revisit how the browser works, and your thesis and continued iterations have hit the mark for me. Congrats on the Alpha launch of Airis and - keep shipping!!!
Mahyad
@jreckseidler really appreciate all the support on the community, hope we can keep delivering a great experience to you

After switching away for a while I've been back to using SigmaOS as my primary browser for a few months and I'm so happy to be back. It offers a lot of extra features that make it a better choice for me than alternatives but the real selling point for me is how responsive the developers are. They respond to questions and have both added features I've asked for as well as fixing bugs I've mentioned. One of the key things for me is that while they take a new approach to a lot things, like hotkeys, they also offer settings to let me work the way I work, they haven't designed an app that tells me they know better than me like a certain other browser. I've also gone through the vertical tabs and multiple spaces thing on almost every browser I can find and while Vivaldi, Edge, Safari and Arc all take approaches I like none of them are as flexible and complete as Sigma. I love that I can have two dozen spaces open, each with recognizable icons and features like pretty reliably being able to find a tab I already have open somewhere without ending up with nearly as many duplicate tabs. Whether through search or snappy keyboard shortcuts I can easily move between tabs and workspaces without ever touching my mouse. Now with disposable workspaces this workflow is even faster and more convenient. There are things I hope they improve, I really want actual folders in addition to subpages and would especially appreciate support for nesting them. I miss having a tab switcher to navigate the last two or three tabs I was in that's faster than searching. I also want support for more extensions but I know they're working on or plan to incorporate these features or something similar because they actually give a shit about what users want and talk to you when you have feedback. Airis is also on point and as good as any other AI browser tool I've used. I'm not sure I'd call SigmaOS the most shiny browser with all the UI bling but it's unquestionably the most productive, at least for me and my workflow.
Mahyad
@chriswhite Always appreciate your honest feedback and support 🧡

I've been using SigmaOS with the original version of Airis for many months now and helped the small team (but don't let the numbers fool you, they're hyper-productive, they're dynamite) with other volunteers over at SigmaOS Slack. To see what a team of 4-5 staff can do in such a short time is really inspiring. 🙌 The SigmaOS helps me manage my daily tasks and it's doing it so well, that I've switched from both Chrome for work and from Vivaldi, used privately, to Sigma. The streamlined interface and the great UX, are certainly great help. But, one-letter shortcuts, that's mind-blowing. 🤯 I'm happy to see that they're extending their premium offering to the free users as well. 👌 I'm not a zealot, I'm not loyal to a brand, brands are there for profit, and my choice of one brand or the other will not change or impact them at the slightest. So I use them as long as it benefits me. But with SigmaOS, I've seen them catering successfully and swiftly to the user needs, so it's impossible but to feel like a stakeholder in SigmaOS with every passing day. And, their optional subscription model, which makes them afloat, is the best way forward. So, it's not a brand, it's a group of patient and dedicated people you met online, who are working on an idea you like, solving a problem you have. 🙏

Congrats @mahyad, @aliatttar, and @sauravmitra on the launch! 🚀 I started using SigmaOS very early on in their journey, and it's refreshing to see a browser that thinks differently about web navigation. The 'Look it up' feature simplifies searching in general, while the ability to 'Ask anything about any website' and 'Pinch for an interactive summary' adds a new layer to browsing. It’s streamlined and intuitive, making information gathering a breeze. Now that they're enabling more AI features, I can't wait to see how it's all going to unfold! If like me you spend 95%+ of your work time in a browser, start challenging your old browser habits & start 10x-ing your workflow by giving this great product a shot!
Mahyad
@aliatttar @sauravmitra @remy_mess You’ve been super helpful with all your feedbacks during our journey, thank you so much for your support so far!

A real PINCH ME moment! You had me at hello. And again with pinch. I absolutely love this product, the team, and the vision. Airis Alpha should be a complete game changer and cannot wait to report back on more use cases.
Mahyad
@daniel_botcherby Thanks man for supporting us! Please keep the feedbacks coming, going through them ASAP
Bart Wauman
Nice, promising product but I can't appreciate it that I can't finish the setup properly without accepting Sigma OS as the default browser!
Saurav Mitra
@byw Thanks for the support! You don't need to set SigmaOS as your default browser to finish the setup. If you turn off "activate link previews", it won't prompt you to set as default.
Ollie Allman
SigmaOS is my fav browser & the team is always shipping updates which is making it better to use every week. Great team.

SigmaOS is incredible. If you’ve used Arc, it combines the great features and design of Arc (even better, IMO) with the speed and usability of Safari. I’ve been testing Airis for a couple hours - and it’s brilliant! Do give this browser a try.
Mahyad
@safwansamsudeen 🧡 This made mine and the teams day!
Callum Pullinger
Amazing bit of kit, really enjoy working on this browser! Looking forward to taking the new update for a spin =P
Saurav Mitra
@callum_pullinger Awesome! Let us know what you think :D
Callum Pullinger
@sauravmitra Loving the UI changes, especially the new search window <3 Accidentally used my only look-up credit on something stupid xD The idea of that sounds great, feel like that would be useful for research/quoting new projects (web developer). Have applied to be an alpha test, hopefully I can get accepted so I can properly try it out haha =P
Mahyad
@callum_pullinger use coupon EARLYBIRD on checkout and you’ll get access to the Pro membership
