You press the physical button, the focusing timer starts, distracting websites are blocked, and the ShinyTimer glows red, showing people around you that you're trying to focus and better bother you a little later.
Hi all!
Many of us use timers to focus on our work. Using Pomodoro or similar techniques. There are many apps that help with this. The most popular one is "Forest".
But the smartphone is a source of distraction itself. Before you can open the app you have to unlock your phone, see notifications, see alluring social media icons, wait for app loading etc. That's why we thought it is better to use a separate device for this.
ShinyTimer - made in the shape of a simple button with a screen plus chrome extension. When you press it, the focusing timer starts, distracting websites are blocked, and the ShinyTimer glows red, showing people around you that you're trying to focus and better bother you a little later.
So you create a sort of non-distraction zone around you.
More details in my amateurish but illustrative video.
We already produce it in small batches in our workshop. So you can get it already. (89$ to save your time.)
What do you think of the idea?
