Been waiting for something like this for years. Any Mac-alternative suggestions?

@jaex123 Do you have plans for a Windows & Linux version of ShareX?
Jaex
@ishu3101 You meant "Mac" & Linux version I think. We used C# to develop ShareX and as you probably know it is Windows only. There is Mono but because screen capture software relies heavily on OS related functions majority of stuffs not supported in Mono. Especially user interface and drawing stuffs. Which would require me to make every single window from scratch using multi platform supported UI library. So porting gonna be years of hard efforts which unfortunately I can't afford alone. Also Core .NET in future gonna replace Mono I bet, so it will be waste of efforts to use Mono right now. But Core .NET currently only viable for console apps and even for console app still it is very limited.

@jaex123 Yeah, I meant Mac & Linux version. Have you thought about using Electron to make it cross platfrom?

@jaex123 are there plans to make an android version? I often need to edit my screenshots and obfuscate info before I send them to developers for app support.
Jaex
@vicky_buddie I'm using Android too and sometimes I miss ShareX on my phone but there is built in region capture and even scrolling capture in Samsung, also after capture there is share menu therefore I didn't really need ShareX much. Problem is there is so many windows in ShareX which must be re made for Android like all uploaders configurations etc. which would be a lot of duplicate effort which I can't afford currently. Not to mention I must learn Xamarin (which allows to use C# to develop Android apps and I'm not sure how much good it is) and all Android library/UI related stuffs which I have zero knowledge right now. Also Play Store have thousands of screen capture software, so probably many people made far better screen capture app than what I could manage to do for Android anyway. Therefore currently I don't have plan to develop Android version, sorry.
