SEC Insights π
Congratulations, Team SEC Insights AI on your successful launch on Producthunt! Your revolutionary approach to SEC document analysis is truly impressive. As a suggestion, it might create a more user-friendly experience if you incorporated a feature for categorizing and summarizing key insights. Keep up the fantastic work! ππ
@manmohit Thanks for checking us out Manmohit! We're hoping to learn a lot more about how to improve our agent's functionality through this launch. Your feedback is very appreciated!
@enthukutlet Thanks for your question Abhishek! The platform we've built for this SEC use case can certainly be generalized to other domains as well! In fact, we're working on an enterprise offering to do just that. Please reach out to us at hi@secinsights.ai if you'd be interested in being an early adopter of that platform!
Hey, I run an Indian Stock Research Platform and have past year's data of all fillings for indian companies, if you want we can collaborate and i'll provide you with the data!
Congratulations on the launch! Looking forward to seeing what the product can do. I will be mindful to use it (for now) on desktop V.S. Mobile. Seems like this might be super useful when we want financial documentation without using a ton of internal resources!
Congrats on the launch πππ This is really handy since official government websites are really hard to work with and the AI is the game changer here, Can see this product be a daily tool for stock traders and similar professions
Awesome launch, @secsamai!
I belive SEC Insights AI could be marketed towards two primary audiences: 1) The investors (current and prospective), and 2) students at financial instutitions (such as MBAs with Fin. as major) to allow them to simplify their financial analysis and report prep.
I would love to see more features being added to your product in coming time.
Best wishes for its success!
@moingshaikh Absolutely agreed! We believe there is a wide audience for people interested in such financial analysis. We look forward to adding more SEC documents to our dataset in the near future!
Wow itβs great product and I am very glad to see that there are a lot of upvotes here:)
I clicked Notify me before because I liked this product and idea. And now I click upvote, because I can try it! Congrats, team!
@mrbala_subramaniam Great question Bala! Our data agent responds to your question by extracting the pieces of texts in the document that are most relevant to your question. So the amount of actionable signal you get in the responses are very dependent on the question you are asking!
Amazing idea, easy to use, but tried one document which doesn't have explicit "forward-looking outlook" information, so AI the weren't able to provide anything about that, so more advanced AI that would research and provide some conclusions would be superior. Still, kudos!
Congrats on the launch! It's already pretty impressive. And I love your tech stack.
Btw, could you share your impression of LlamaIndex? What other data frameworks have you considered?
Hah, I wish I had this tool when I was a studentπ but if seriously, in the world of tons of information and the necessity to work quickly, this is a must-have.
This looks like a great tool for anyone dealing with SEC filings. I have a couple of questions-
1. I see you are using multiple documents simultaneously to be analyzed. How are you managing context length in gpt? Are you using some vector dbs?
2. Are cross company queries possible?
@jasdeep_chhabra Hi Jasdeep, excellent set of questions!
1. Yes! We are making use of a vector DB to load relevant sections from each document and then using some of LlamaIndex's response synthesis modules to combine those sections together into a coherent response to the user's question.
2. Absolutely! We built this from the start to be able to answer questions that span across all the documents you've selected. You can try asking a question like "What are the common challenges faced by all of these companies?"
@secsamai That's great Sam! I also wanted to ask, Is the knowledge set of the chat interface only the uploaded SEC filings or is it also allowed to venture outside it?
@jasdeep_chhabra Another great question!
It does venture outside, albeit only a little bit. Our data agent is setup to route queries differently depending on whether the user has asked a qualitative or a quantitative question.
For qualitative questions, we just use the document contents itself. For quantitative questions, we've partnered with a high quality SEC data provider that provides us with pre-extracted data for the selected documents. So while we do load data from an external source, that data is very much specific to the documents you have selected.
@andrew_philip1 Thanks for the question Andrew! The documents we are currently supporting the analysis of are reported on a quarterly and yearly basis. So any regulatory or macro-level changes would only be reflected once those changes are discussed in upcoming 10-Q and 10-K reports. Open to feedback on other SEC document types you'd like to see us support!
