Congratulation on the launch. The product looks impressive, as some of the other recent entries like Daybridge and Amie in the similar space turned out to be long-listed waitlists where signing up and waiting for the product to get you on board is impossible. Without using any of these videos or screenshots, they are also meaningless, as only investors can get excited by that, not users! I understand that the product making process is lengthy, but end users should not get involved in between these if you don't have a plan to release a product in 1-3 months max. Rather than signing up on a waitlist, you can ask for emails to be notified when the product is ready to onboard regular users. This waitlist drama was started by MAILBOX in 2013 and is still getting misused by many.
I understand the frustration @nilsej. If we did not use a waiting list, everybody would use the product at the same time, the experience would likely be bad because we are still building it and we would not learn as much. Also a lot of users are on Windows or do not use Google Calendar. Letting them use the product is pointless since it is not ready for their platform/provider yet.
With the waiting list, you subscribe and we will let you know, as you said, when the product is ready for you.
I've been invited to the private beta. Let me tell you: this is already a stellar product. In term of craft it's already going close to Things 3. But Routine beats Things on the actual workflows you use on a daily basis.
Generally we face this challenge: should we let users do whatever they want (ex: Notion); or should we suggest a more rigid structure to help them ? (ex: Things). In my opinion, Routine found the sweet spot.
I've been switching between my tasks and my calendar for so long. Currently I use Things 3, and I have tried Motion and Reclaim.ai. They are pretty good, but what make Routine even better to me : changing how we relate to our "legos". These legos are events, tasks, and notes.
This is where it shines to me: every type of lego share the same structure you can add info into it.
- For instance I can prepare my agenda for my next meeting within my calendar events. No need to open Notion or a note app. It's all in there.
- I can link a random task to an existing note.
I feel that I can play easily with every component (event, task, note) with the right flexibility.
What I love so far:
- Natural language to create stuff really fast (Superhuman like)
- Week view planner with a mix of events, scheduled tasks AND backlog of tasks within that day
Generally, it feels at last I've found a tool that works with the way my mind works.

Congrats on the launch! But I'm experiencing a huge bug right now that's not letting me schedule tasks within the calendar. I keep getting a pesky "FATAL ERROR: No Primary Calendar". Anyone else dealing with this? Been waiting a long time to switch to this calendar officially and just can't until it's usuable.

Routine is a game changer for your daily routine : a perfect mix between calendar and tasks management to get things done.
In one year, I have met so many guys starting using it and stick to it to get more productive on their daily Routine. This is a hell of a prductivity tool. For me, it's like when (Sunrise meets Wunderlist)^3 !

You are getting in a niche with a lot of demand and a lot of competition. The modern-day person is and should be all about maximazing their time, so congrats on the launch of a product helping do this in the best way possible.
Daily user here for almost 2 years 👋 Cant' go back to my last setup which was a combo of slack reminders, to-do lists and Google Calendar. With the upcoming releases I even think to reduce my things in Notion (or increase it thanks the API ? hell yeah)

What's your primary difference from Sunsama? And can I sync notes created in Routine in to Notion? Cheers.

@jochen_gererstorfer1 You're right, it is not mentioned. We will maintain the product with a free plan and discounts for students. A premium plan will be introduced with advanced functionalities but everything available today will remain free.
I am using Routine since a year now. Very impressed by the team and the weekly delivery. Great and beautiful product that help me to organize myself and be focus. everyday.
Clean product, simple and useful design. Working perfectly on my Mac and iPhone setup.
