I've been told not to add profile photo on resumes for non-media jobs; as companies might reject those resumes outright, so that they don't get sued for "discrimination based on looks". Is that not correct?
@vicky_buddie it really depends on the region, and it can be quite tricky for users to figure it out on their own. That is why one important new feature of this update is the location selector, that makes it easier for them to fill in the appropriate information according to the best practices by region. For example, if you select "North America", you'll see that the picture and other fields like date of birth, nationality and marital status are removed.
It is a great overall experience, but these days the quality of the PDF is worse than ever, even online pdf I cannot read anything, so you can pay for it...
Hello Product Hunt community! Itโs crazy to think that itโs been more than 2 years since I first launched ResumeMaker.Online and it was selected 1# Product of the Week. After several cumulative fixes and updates during this time, Iโm officially launching the biggest update yet with the version 2.0 ๐
Although most of the changes were under the hood to offer a totally new mobile experience and improve the website performance to achieve a 100/100 Google score in all categories, there are some new exciting features!
Now the PDF download can be longer than a single A4 and looks better than ever. I got rid of some visual artifacts and I also listened to major criticism: the rated bars/circles for listing skills. I still think thereโs value in them for specific cases, but now users can opt for a simple way to list their skills without any grade or percentage attached to them.
Other important new feature (specially now, with remote work booming) is the location selector, that makes it easier for the users to fill in the appropriate information according to the best practices by region.
There are already new things on my todo list for the near future, but if you have feedback or feature requests please let me know!
Finally, there are perks for Product Hunt members if you follow this discount link: https://www.resumemaker.online/#... ๐ (valid during april)
Congrats on the launch! Have you ever thought about creating a feature where you could potentially fill out external profiles for users in different sites from the resume info (given permission of course)? Either way, good luck!
