Reason is the app for podcast lovers. Listen to podcasts with friends, share great discoveries, and discuss topics with each other and podcast hosts ๐ง๐
Congrats on the launch, it is a very nice product! I'm wondering though if and how it can compete with bigger platforms that not only share podcasts but also music, like Spotify, etc?
I understand Reason is made more make sharing and discussing with your circle about these podcasts?

It started as a side project a few years ago but after I met @samharristweets and @jack_hughes3 we went full steam ahead and went through Techstars (London) and raised some funds!
Itโs been a long time in the making with a lot of beta testing and we are happy to bring it to you!
Weโd love to hear your thoughts and invite you to "Reason" with us anytime ๐ค
@klaaz0r As a podcaster it's been great talking to listeners about my episodes and getting actual feedback on specific moments.
I can't thank you enough for joining the team and making it ๐ฅฐ
I have been using the app for the last couple of weeks, after trying a few other social apps,
Reason is the only one that really gives a social feel. Most social podcasting apps
just slapped on a comment box. With reason I've had a lot of fun tagging and chatting with friends, seeing timestamps from friends and just keep listening to podcasts.
Well done and I hope you guys keep coming up with new features!
Sam and the team are all fantastic. Loved seeing Reason grow and I find it pulls me into podcasts much more often than Spotify.
Congrats for the launch team! ๐
I've been following this app from the start. Reason FM is my go to app to listen to podcasts and immediately share it with my friends. It even made me listen to more podcasts because of the simplicity! Keep up the good work folks!
@klaaz0r You should indicate this through some way in the app, or people will get confused seeing missing episodes like me.
Besides this minor point, I really appreciate cross-platform availability, especially on the web.
@naiyer Yes good point, right now we only do that for podcasts that have no episodes. Will add an info box how that works! Thanks for the tip, glad you like it!
I'm constantly sharing podcasts with friends and family. This might be a good way of doing it. I normally share the link from my Podcast app and I know that everyone has a favourite app for listening, curious to see how this works out.
@klaaz0r@samharristweets Please tell me where to get in touch. While I love the app and am using it, i do have feedback that I am sure you can implement. Thanks.
@kishorebhargava - thanks for the messages. We replied offline but if anyone else has this question you can get us on intercom on the website or email support@reason.fm
Rather than sending podcast links from Apple or Google on to friends and not knowing which app they're using, or if they've listened to it, or if they've liked it - with Reason I can send a link to the episode using the app or the website, or I can tag them directly in the episode and then involve them in the discussion.

Why has no one done social podcasting before? It's the best podcast app I have now, hands down.
I've been listening and loving podcasts since 2014, but never actually socialized around it, there was not seamless way to do it.
This completely changed with Reason, I not only discuss topics on the episodes with friends and their friends, but also discovered LOTS of new podcasts from my network's feed that otherwise I wouldn't have ever found ๐คฉ
I'd recommend anyone to check out the app, worth the time!
Baffles me that no one has been making podcasts social in this way before - this is an amazing idea executed by someone who has been a podcaster for about a decade themselves (alongside a great technical team), which really shows. There's nothing like a solution built by someone who is their own primary customer.
If you ever wanted to chat about a podcast, specific episodes, specific topics addressed (using timestamps), or just chat with the host or other listeners, this is going to make your whole podcast experience so much more fun! No more having to share different links to different people on different social media with "listen to timestamp x" in order to share fun/insightful/disturbing anecdotes.
For podcasters this offers a clear way of having proper listener engagement - it can often feel lonely to just make your podcast, pouring in all your creative efforts, and then essentially only know your viewers as numbers on a "listeners/downloads" counter. Reason actually means you can connect, see the discussions, and - even if you want to just remain on the side-lines - clearly track the impact your podcast is having on people!
@roelandpjedecorte Thanks a lot for the love. Certainly hit the nail on the head for the problems we are looking to solve and glad you are enjoying it!
As a podcaster and and an avid podcast listener, Reason is the first app I open every day. Super easy to discuss new insights and thoughts with friends, I highly recommend it to everyone!
As a podcast lover I was interested to try Reason . I was surprised how quickly I became hooked. It's so much more fun discovering through friends and having people to talk with about the things you're interested in.
I've has some epic discussions in the app about philosophy, relationships, money, it's just fun and a natural extension to the edutainment I'm after. Great work @samharristweets@klaaz0r
A game changer for podcast discovery - As someone who struggles to find new podcasts for my taste, getting recommendations by seeing what friends are listening to has got me listening to more prodcasts.
Overall a great app with some good social features so far, I can't wait to see what you guys add next.
I have recently joined the Reason team as an intern for the summer. I was so keen to get on board as this app is something I really believe in! Excited to be part of the Reason journey as the app is really blossoming! ๐ธ
Brilliant app to share podcasts with our group and friends. Love getting suggestions from like minded friends and fellow musicians. Big up to the guys and girls @ Reason....Respect ๐
Loving the app so far! The user interface is head over heels better than any podcast app I've used on Android and that's a big win for me.
The social aspects are engaging, but not too in your face. Being able to spy on what your mate's are listening to is oddly fascinating and introduces you to all new podcasts.
Last but not least being able to directly engage with the hosts and your connections relative to an episode is a really nice touch IMO. It allows for quick tags if you think someone might be interested or deeper/more banal discussion if so desired.
All in all keep up the good work chaps!!
@joseph_hollingworth Thanks for helping me find so many great podcasts and for the fun discussions especially on the Darknet diaries podcast! ๐ฑโ๐ป
@joseph_hollingworth Thanks a lot. Android was certainly a headache so it's great to see that it's valued ๐
And we all know I love a deeply banal discussion as you keep reminding me ๐
