I know this got a fair bit of undeserved criticism on HN but I love this product (if we can call it that). I just posted some of my code all over social media this morning and without this I might not have been as tempted to do it.

This is awesome! Wish it existed when I was building LemonStand, as we shared lots of code snippets on social and elsewhere. I love how simple and curated it is with the color schemes.

I'm Nichlas from the Raycast team. We've been working on Ray.so to help you create beautiful images of your code, shareable with the world!
Ray.so started out as a hackday project, which has now developed in to a tool we hope many of you will use.
Choose from the syntax theme options; toggle between dark and light mode; choose whether to have a background or not; select the padding that works for you; save and share.
We'd love to get your feedback and suggestions for what else we could do to make Ray.so even better for you.

@nichlaswa Looks awesome! Would love to have a "Copy to clipboard" button as well as a "Download" button (for pasting to Slack, etc.).
@iamramsey Thanks Isaac! Great idea, we will be adding more export options soon, and this would be a nice addition :)
@nichlaswa Would you consider an aspect ratio option? Sharing 16/9 images on Twitter lets us avoid the infamous crop 🙂
@nichlaswa hey how can I add copy button kinda thing which on clicked, copies the whole snippet?
@nichlaswa @iamramsey yea, heavy integrations to existing platforms like twitch and discord would also be helpful in sharing quicker. nice job :D

@samish not right now. It‘s just a URL that opens the tool preconfigured. Later we might introduce some API to download images. No plans yet.

I use another web based tool for this but more alternatives the better!
@martinlexow Not sure about offline but we want to provide an API at some point and integrate it into Raycast.

Awesome work. The color syntax looks beautiful. Is there any way I can find those same color themes for Visual Studio Code?
@casperstr We wanted to make it easy to get a good looking image of your code and settled on fewer options with curated colors.
@casperstr @thomaspaulmann Sounds great! Something I've been missing on carbon, is image size presets. When sharing code pics on twitter, it's hoping for the best that the cropped result looks nice. Size presets could improve that experience.
@casperstr @smeijer Oh that is a brilliant suggestion! Gonna consider it when we add the share on Twitter feature.
@casperstr I like carbon and have used it a bit, but ray.so is cleaner to me!!! What do you like about Carbon, instead of this?!!?
@douglas_correa It's too exotic :-P Just kidding. It looks like it's missing. We'll add more languages.
