Hey hunters, this is Lane from Qvault! We are totally excited to introduce the new version of Qvault, our "2.0" so to speak. We’ve created Qvault to be a single place for junior developers to learn the often-overlooked CS skills that self-taught devs miss out on. Entry-level programming jobs are competitive. The single biggest job-search-hurdle for you as a self-taught developer is that you're competing against candidates who know how to solve the real-life coding problems that require CS knowledge. We've built an app and community that makes learning computer science exciting. What is new in version 2.0: - 14 courses and projects organized into simple learning paths - A Discord community integration that makes the learning experience a group effort. - An updated UI with an emphasis on simplicity and cleanliness. - A gamified gem economy that encourages learning and community helpfulness. - Live workshops in our community Discord server where we talk about a new coding topic each week. - Tons of minor improvements. What is coming next: - More projects for you to build on your local machine and add to your Github portfolio - Hints that can be bought with gems when you get stuck - More community tools with our custom Discord bot - More CS courses, we're working towards having all the content you'd find in a 4-year undergraduate degree Your feedback and ideas are always welcome!

Even as a senior Engineer I found a lot of value with Qvault. Filling in some holes and refreshing on certain topics that I haven’t seen in years. The short lessons and support on discord have been extremely valuable.

@rbl00 Thanks so much for the support! I'm glad we've been able to provide some interesting content even at your skill level!

I am learning programming with Qvault. Here I have learnt already many interesting programming concepts. The support is very good and the community is very inspiring.

@ozgur_yenihayat It's been so fantastic to have you in the community oz-y! You've been a crushing content as fast as I can make it. I've loved the help you've provided by finding typos and reporting issues with the courses so that I can make the explanations clear and concise :) Thanks for being such a great fan!

@wagslane Thanks Lane for making Qvault such a great way for learning
One of the most amazing aspects of this project is the Discord community and the workshops! Between the app and the interaction, you can't help but move closer towards your career goals.
Lane Wagner
@gibstock I'm glad you're enjoying it! Our pivot towards the Discord community being a priority has been a ton of fun, at least for me.

As a boot camp graduate I use the service exactly as Lane seems to have envisioned, to get a deeper understanding of computer & data science topics that were covered in my curriculum, but hardly in depth. Qvault is helping me understand Big O complexity & data structures in clear, easily digestible lessons and code sandboxes.
Lane Wagner
@michael_walchak I'm glad you're loving the CS courses, they really are the core of the project, and what I want most students to take away lessons from. I love seeing you at the Monday workshops. Thanks Mike!

It's rare that the course creator hangs out in the Discord community (almost two years as frequently as he can) and helps even if you're on a free plan/trial. And Lane helps not only in trivial code topics, mind you, juggling between his day job and Qvault.
Lane Wagner
@nikolay_nikonov1 Hey Nick! You've been hanging around since the very early days when I had only published one or two barely-working courses! I'm grateful for you sticking around through all the crazy updates and releases we've been doing!

I love helping Lane write content for Qvault's blog, and I'm so excited to see this launch on Product Hunt!
Lane Wagner
@zulie_rane Thanks Zulie! Your insightful posts are an amazing resource for our students :)

I have loved working with Lane on Qvault, and have especially loved watching the community on Discord grow and learn together. I'm so excited for this launch on Product Hunt!

QVault puts a lot of emphasis on community as well as comprehensive tutorials. I think that's essential to learning, especially learning to program.
Lane Wagner
@stevenjowens I'm glad you enjoy our approach. I'm actually currently working on a webpage that explains our approach to learning, as I don't think it's properly conveyed on the site currently. Here's a rough draft of some of our core beliefs as a spoiler: * The future of learning is digital * Finding information is easy, finding the best information is hard * Mastery is important, grades are not * Relying on self-motivation isn't enough * A mix of guided and unguided learning is essential * You want to be a T-shaped developer * Being skilled and conveying your skills are equally important * Computer science matters * As programming becomes easier, differentiating yourself becomes harder

Not only enjoying what Qvault has to offer experience wise, but also being apart of their amazing Discord community, I can easily recommend Qvault to anyone looking for an awesome spot to learn what you need/want while meeting unique & friendly individuals that are taking a similar path to your journey.
Lane Wagner
@extremoss Thanks, I'm glad you've found so much value in the community! I really appreciate the kind words. I have plans to add even more community integration features to the Discord bot, but its all one step at a time

The best part about Qvault is, they are transforming the lives of programmers. In this everchanging & competitive world, getting your hands on the perfect skills and a relevant job is pretty hard. And, Qvault is making it happen for the programmers around the world. May this venture turn into a Unicorn. Best Wishes! ❤

Really love the community here at Qvault! Lane is very active and works hard to make sure the site is in working order and up-to-date, and he does a great job of keeping the Discord community engaged. They have regular events ranging from workshops to resume reviews, so there are lots of opportunities to meet other devs. Definitely worth checking out!
