Proof — a #web3 contact experience; (prove 💰 → send 💬 )
A proof.chat link lets new faces contact you. When users send a message they need to verify a “proof of funds” amount that you specify (any amount works). For example, you may request that someone be in possession of $1,000 before they can send you a message.

Current methods of contact don’t require anything to initiate. Any human (or bot) need only your email to start a conversation. As a result we are confronted with an onslaught of spam, ads, and ill-intentioned actors. Not only do these actions unnecessarily distract us, they can end up causing harm.
To combat this, many forms of contact require a “captcha” - time spent by the user - before their message is delivered. We don’t believe this to be enough of a deterrent and web3 has provided us with a better way. We’ve replaced the captcha on our contact form with a “proof of funds” step. Not only does this deter bad actors, it also gives the message receiver a better idea of what to expect.

This type of verification is our present. There are many instances where banks will “verify” the funds of an individual or business. Because this involves manual labor, and employees, to look at confidential information - it’s expensive to do. As a result only the likes of high net worth individuals, or high value transactions can take advantage of this.
At proof we are opening this “luxury” to everyone, everywhere, for any purpose. We hope you will join us in our mission to create more effective lines of communication.
