We built Pickaxe to help knowledge entrepreneurs scale themselves. We're convinced that consulting and other forms of knowledge work can and should be turned into SaaS businesses, and Pickaxe is here to help.
With Pickaxe you can build any type of GPT, just like you can through OpenAI.
We make it easy to deploy those tools as embeds, or put them in branded studios, like creating your own personal chatGPT.
With Pickaxe, you can control exactly who can use your tools, and even charge for access.
I love Pickaxe. So easy to use, so powerful. I can set-up AI forms and bots within minutes, and they work great. Lot of options, actions, customisation. I'd like to thank Mike, Nathaniel and the entire Pickaxe team for their work and commitment helping this tool to be usable by and for EU people.
To sum up: awesome AI tool š„š„š„
Love love love Pickaxe! Absolute game changer, it is allowed me to create powerful AI bot business tools for the businesses in my Global Business Plaza- itās intuitive. Itās easy itās powerful and itās back by a team that actually listens and response. It isnāt just Tech for Tech-sake, itās Tech that empowers real people running real businesses!
You might be thinking, 'Here comes another AI platform promising the moon and failing to deliver.' You're probably skeptical, wondering if this is just another overhyped tool that'll end up being more trouble than it's worth. You might even worry that it'll be too complex to use or that you'll be left without support after signing up.
But let me tell you, PickAxe is different. Within hours of getting started, I was able to create sophisticated external strategic analysis tools and a studio that not only looks professional but also gives me full control over the AI models I choose to use. And yes, I've already started monetizing on the platform.
You're probably concerned about integration headaches or whether these tools can truly be tailored to fit your specific needs. I had those concerns too. But the built-in knowledge bases and user-friendly interfaces turned out to be exactly as advertisedāintuitive and powerful. You might even be thinking this sounds too good to be true, that there must be hidden costs or limitations. I assure you, the transparency and capability of PickAxe exceeded my expectations.
So, if you're tired of platforms that promise much and deliver little, give PickAxe a try. It might just surprise you how easy and rewarding building and monetizing AI tools can be.
Iāve been a paying user of Pickaxe since August 2024. Iāve paid for and supported plenty of early-stage products because I believe in vision. Iām not afraid of beta bumps or the occasional pivotāthose are part of the journey. But what I do expect is clear, respectful, and timely communicationāespecially when decisions are being made that affect paying customers.
Hereās what happened:
Recently, Pickaxe Projects is rolled out migration to a new version. On the migration screen, they show a breakdown of what you āhaveā (tools, features, usage)ābut right under that is a big, bold message that says:
āYou wonāt be able to go back.ā
That kind of language immediately raises questions. So I reached out to the founder directly at the email they provided, as instructed:
āLet us know if you have any questions⦠report any issues so we can hop on them immediately.ā
Will migrating affect my account or change anything Iāve already paid for?
To be specific: I purchased access to certain features as part of a lifetime deal. Those include multiple studios, monthly credits, and access to premium AI models. None of that is mentioned or clearly confirmed on the migration screenāand the founder hasnāt been willing to provide a straight answer.
Instead of a clear yes or no, I received a vague reply brushing off the interface concern and saying the numbers werenāt "limits." When I asked again for written confirmationānothing. Days passed. I followed up againāstill nothing.
Eventually, I was told I should post in the community forum or check YouTube.
Let me be clear:
This isnāt a tech support issue. This is about trust, clarity, and how founders choose to show up when customers ask important questions.
Startups arenāt just building toolsātheyāre building relationships. When founders go silent or deflect valid concerns, it doesnāt just undermine the productāit chips away at the confidence people had in supporting the vision to begin with.
If getting a clear answer to a basic, account-related question is this difficultāredirected, deflected, or ignoredāwhat happens when the stakes are higher?
Founders set the tone for the product, the team, and the entire customer experience. And if transparency, accountability, and communication arenāt there from the top, it will show up in the product sooner or later.
Support the visionābut pay close attention to how it's led. Thatās what truly shapes the future of the software youāre investing in.
I have been a gold customer for a while now. Pickaxe has allowed me to build and manage two AI micro SaaS platforms as a non-technical founder. Once you get your head around the relatively simple workflow, it's quick and easy to build new custom GPT's. I love that the wrapper element also includes Stripe integration. Since I've been a customer, the ongoing updates and roadmap progress have been great to see, and there's a really strong support community. If you're looking to build your own AI product you should definitely give this a go!
I love Pickaxe through and through. As excited as I was with LLMs since the world underwent the ChatGPT moment, even the name Pickaxe to me signalled a team that deeply understood that LLMs do for curated knowledge - mining insightful extracts from your trusted sources - that is really the heart of the product and what a great solution it is. The team has also been super focused and active in building out these tools - even considering a fast-moving landscape - with a seamless no-code interface that has really boiled down bot-creation to a few basic steps. I really can't imagine I could've built as many bots as I have as fast as I have if I had to learn + troubleshoot + maintain multiple layers of software packages myself.
I think Pickaxe has a lot of potential and can't wait to see where the industry will go next!
ššššš Game-Changer for AI CreationāIntuitive, Powerful, and Lightning-Fast!
Pickaxe is hands-down one of the most exciting tools Iāve added to my digital toolkit. From the very first click, it was clearāthis platform was built with creators in mind. It's incredibly easy to use, yet surprisingly powerful. I was able to build and launch AI forms and bots in minutesāand they didnāt just work, they worked beautifully, and they keep adding powerful features.
What really sets Pickaxe apart is the balance of simplicity and depth. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, the platform gives you robust customization, versatile actions, and endless options to bring your ideas to lifeāwithout needing to touch a line of code.
If youāre even thinking about stepping into the world of AI tools, this is where you want to start.
āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Great Tool, Even Better People Behind It
As a customer, Iāve had a great experience with Pickaxe. The product works smoothly, and itās packed with valueābut what really stood out to me was the support. Nathaniel Mahowald was always quick to help me, even when the answers were already in the Q&A (yes, I know).
Also, fun fact: this testimonial was cleaned up using their own softwareābecause my English isnāt always perfect. So if it reads well⦠give them the credit! š
Highly recommended tool with a great team behind it!
Proud user here. I've been with Pickaxe for a few months now. My story is this: I've been writing chatbots since 2017. Since we were all writing them on Messenger, and way before AI was cool. And you know what? I moved every single one of my bots over to Pickaxe.
Why, you might ask? Why not just use GPT? Great question.
Here's the answer: Memory and chains.
GPT's memory has failed me many times. It's frustrating, and I can't tell you how many times I've had to say hey, remember what you said you'd remember? And writing mini GPT's is not easy. It's no code, sure. But most of the time I was stuck there, guessing. GPT's memory is like a hand mirror. It does reflect, but only so much.
Pickaxe's memory is a full length mirror with little wings for different angles. The difference is massive. I can now create personalized bots with memory for days. I can create something that truly serves my clients. I'll never go back to GPT. Never.
Chains is the second part. When you're on GPT, you're dependent. On whatever the company wants to do next. If GPT decides to take a detour or not work on part of the product for a while, you (and your clients) are along for the ride. It's too limiting for me. I want to choose the LLM that's right for my clients, not just force them into a single option.
And now I'm taking a piece of software I spent thousands (and years) building, and putting it on Pickaxe. Since the moment I started to do this, I've known it was the exact right thing to do. It's much easier to work with, and the owners are friendly, accessible, and want to help you write something that changes people's lives. It's a clear opportunity for no coders, and I invite you to check it out.
Been using Pickaxe to build custom GPTs and internal tools for our own business as well as clients. Pickaxe makes it easy to create and monetize these tools, plus embed them within our own workflows so we can have more control over where and how our tools are being used. Mike and Nathaniel have been incredibly helpful in supporting us when we have questions and need help on ways to build with Pickaxe. Looking forward to continued use of the tool and helping others use it, too!
Love Pickaxe- Everything works as expected. It's simple enough for a non-coder like me to conceive, develop, and implement an idea quickly. Plus, the team is very accessible and exceptionally skilled at what they do. š„š„š„
Mind-blown by Pickaxe! Built three complex tools for my customers in under an hour. The UI is intuitive, the AI is scary-smart, and the customization options are exactly what I needed. Thanks guys, you've created something special here!
I was really struggling to find a way to create, share and monetise the custom GPTs I was using before I found Pickaxe. I can do so much more with their platform than I thought was initially possible.
It's a great tool and deserves to be on everyone's radar.
Pickaxe is a great platform to spin up AI tools really quick. The tools I create with Pickaxe are used primarily for my business needs, often people ask how I did that and what I like best is that I can easily clone these tools to other businesses by the studio feature and make some $$$

Awesome! I've been trying to create custom AI tools for clients but the technical barrier has always been a struggle.
I like the idea of turning my consulting services into a SaaS product.
