This is the second iteration of this game (had to make it a bit easier..) I've been receiving scam emails for years. Recently I've heard more and more stories of friends and family falling for these scams. Yet all of the focus in the media is on big organisations running expensive (and controversial) phishing simulation campaigns. Is this something that worries you? If you're the tech savvy one - what steps would you take to protect your friends and family?

@patrick_collings1 I really like this idea. It's usually quite simple to avoid (non spear) phishing attempts if you know what to look for. Good job!

@a_wizard_and_a_king that's exactly it. If you have a rough idea of what could be a scam then so many people could protect themselves rather than putting all their trust in spam filtering (*cough* yahoo *cough*)

@patrick_collings1 I tried it now. It's pretty cool. But a bit confusing. Since the emails don't have any reference to my life it was hard to tell if it's valid or not. I had to go by the most basic approach of Source email address and checking the destination links (nice touch btw). My suggestion, I would also incorporate typos which are often very common in most phishing attempts. Just my personal thoughts :)

@a_wizard_and_a_king yep good point, that was always going to be an issue with something like this - people from different parts of the world + companies they might never have heard of. Not something I can really do yet but maybe once there's enough emails to sort by, it could be a case of entering a bit of info ie. country, profession and age bracket. Then the emails are a bit more relevant to you and not just randomised. Thanks for the suggestion re. typos definitely a type of phishing email I will add.
