Here I was dreaming they partnered with Uber (or Lyft) and I could have a large Tesora lightly sweetened delivered to my office everyday by my local Philz. That being said, this is still great and will solve my running out of beans problem I've been having recently.
@stttories Silken Splendor is my go-to but any of the medium/dark roasts are good. If you want decaf for late nights, try the Dark French.
I'll say, Philz is never as good at home as it is when they make it at the cafe. They secretly put crack in it, I'm pretty sure.
@will_lam No.
Well, sort of. Philz is well known for amazing mixed drinks (mint mojito coffee, gingerbread coffee, etc) which are fantastic and incredibly well balanced. The mint coffee uses like 1/3 of an acre of fresh mint, if you tell them to use full fat milk it's pretty insane.
But I've never been impressed with their black coffee. It's great, sure, compared to most coffee shops, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as Blue Bottle.
GRANTED: they also do a lot more dark roast beans, which I don't care for as much, and Blue Bottle doesn't really do. (I can't say I've ever had anything above a full city from BB, and it seems like Philz light roasts start around full city.)
@willimholte@will_lam I'm going to 100% agree. The mixed drinks are fantastic (even though the thought of it seems ridiculous). They somehow find a magic way to make it work!.
