Hi everyone, We’re excited to launch Pangea AuthZ on Product Hunt 🤩 In this day and age, we know our apps need permissions to separate users into subscription levels or even administrators. Building your own authorization seems simple at the beginning but grows out of control as your app grows, you get more users, and you have to think about compliance, onboarding, and more. Maybe you’ve started to extract authorization but now you need to re-architect your app from the ground up. Even worse, these tools introduce another problem: Most require you to commit to either a Role-based or a Relationship-based access control model (RBAC vs ReBAC) in your first lines of code when your team knows the least about the app, your users, and their goals. In reality, your apps grow as your team, architecture, and customer needs change and your authorization tools should not be a blocker. At Pangea, we built with that in mind. Much like your app, we start you with a simple Role-based approach and embed the concept for a more advanced Relationship-based approach. You don’t have to use the Relationships but you can seamlessly step into them over time without rebuilding your app. Pangea AuthZ becomes a consistent authorization layer that you build once, embed once, adapt over time, reuse in any of your apps, and always reflects the latest state of your world.
