It's LIVE! Congrats, @danielsinger and team. Curious to hear your thoughts on the future of digital communication, broadly speaking. Animojis and now Memojis are hitting iPhones. I'm curious if this shifts more of our communication to become more avatar based.

@rrhoover Thanks Ryan! I think avatars are part of the equation and something we've thought deeply about. I think for avatars to be truly useful they need to go above and beyond being a mask. Not quite sure what apple released or what's in the market now really gets close to what I think we need to have for daily communication. They need to help you tell stories in fundamentally new ways. We'll have more announcements on that space later this summer ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks @nickabouzeid for hunting this!!! Hello Product Hunt ๐Ÿผ Weโ€™re SO excited to finally share Panda with all of you today! For over a year, weโ€™ve been working on a powerful voice controlled camera that brings your conversations and ideas to life. With Panda, we wanted to develop an entirely new visual tool where you can both create and communicate with your voice. Many products document what happens in the world around us, but they ignore the beautiful worlds that exist in our imaginations. Panda makes those ideas real using augmented reality and the power of voice. Want to become a dinosaur? Just say โ€œDinosaur.โ€ Itโ€™s as simple as that! We canโ€™t wait to hear your feedback and to see what you create! Thank you so much -Daniel

Love what the teams been able to pull off. What seems simple has been super technically difficult to build.

Pros:

super fun to use!

Cons:

addicting

Congrats @Danielsinger and team! What's something you learned that surprised you while building out Panda?

Itโ€™s here. The hotness. Panda AF. The Belle of the 2018 Social Ball. Not only driven by a team of young geniuses (donโ€™t take that bit lightly, I mean it) but a team of creative, inspiring innovators that have been ahead of the curve since before you saw that curve coming. No riding waves, Panda is making big splashes. Iโ€™m excited to see where this space develops and Iโ€™m eager to follow this teamโ€™s journey as they continue to build groundbreaking technologies that change how we communicate. ๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ†

Finally getting around to writing my PH comment on this; first, great hunt @nickabouzeid! Second, awesome build here from the Panda team -- @danielsinger, @Gabriel__Lewis, @Brotractor, & @TheMarcAMartin ๐Ÿค— It's been exciting to see Panda evolve mostly from the outside through @Nivo0o0's tweets, and though the AR/VR area is a bit outside my realm of expertise, this is certainly something I'd be interested to see grow. Inasmuch as I view these types of releases from the tech consumer perspective, the art historian in me has similarly been considering what the growth of AR/VR can mean for new forms of art and expression. Perhaps the most exciting thing in this context is to consider that with the proliferation of social media and smartphones, apps and techs like this will provide the next evolution of performance and experiential art, wherein we are actually *a part* of the art, instead of just viewing it in a passive way from the outside. From an art history and contemporary perspective, this has massive potential for a community that is often further removed from the tech conversation, and thus why I'm so intrigued by it. Really excited to see where this leads us in the coming months -- great job guys!

Exciting day for the Panda Team ๐Ÿผtoday ๐ŸŽ‰ Congrats on launching ๐Ÿ‘ I had the chance to try Panda and was impressed by the product, and the vision behind it. A voice-controlled camera is something that changes the way we communicate because you are able to trigger things in real time, improving our way of communication for the future ๐Ÿ‘ Something I appreciate is the gamification, which is really well-done ๐Ÿ‘It may be only me but I was more excited to have a new effect in Panda than a trophy in Snapchat ๐Ÿ™‚ I am on Level 5 ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜„

This seems like an interesting iteration on top of what Apple are providing with Memojis and FaceTime. The biggest threat here is that Apple develop similar functionality into FaceTime itself with dynamic filters based on words said. This is cool and congrats on the launch, just intrigued if there's anything else on top here that sets Panda apart.

Congratulations @DanielSinger and team! I believe Panda is one of the apps that will fundamentally change communications, hand in hand with Memojis and Animojis. It's really going from 0 to 1. I think Panda is an amazing tool to create engaging content. Look forward to seeing IG stories made with Panda everyday!
