@opengig_nijansh Congrats Nijash. I would have tried most of these apps but struggled to get past any one who is good at building slightly complex apps and is underdoing stuff when it comes to simple apps with basic integrations that make them actually useful. Eager to know, how Helix is different for non dev / but app enthusiasts like us.

Hey @imraju Helix was built keeping in mind the use cases of a developer. For non devs, our team of expert engineers are always open to have a chat and help in building the product they have envisioned.

@opengig_nijansh Congrats Verma! This is a great idea. And 100x faster🤣 hahhahah okaaayyy

Arnold

@opengig_nijansh  @sophiaatdola I think they are talking about speeding up the process

Congrats on launching Helix! One question—how do you ensure the generated code aligns with specific enterprise standards and security best practices across different industries or teams? @opengig_nijansh

@zimbra
Helix follows industry best practices by default, but we know every enterprise has its own standards. You can define custom rules directly in the PM Agent project settings or by adding an ".ogrules" file in your project’s root. Helix will automatically align its code to your defined standards.

Huge congrats on launching Helix! The idea of an AI agent that not only generates but also runs and debugs code autonomously is incredibly powerful—especially for teams aiming to ship fast without sacrificing quality. The focus on production-grade output and automation makes this feel like more than just a coding assistant—it’s a co-pilot for serious software development.

How do you ensure reliability and context awareness across large codebases? And do you see Helix evolving into a full devops companion beyond just code generation?

@susaana_s Thanks for comment
To stay reliable and context-aware in large codebases, Helix uses a few smart techniques:

  • It reads VSCode’s built-in index to understand functions, imports, and references.

  • Helix traces how parts of the code are connected, so suggestions always stay relevant.

  • It focuses only on the current file and related code, avoiding unrelated noise.

  • Recent changes are cached to keep things fast without showing outdated info.

Thankyou @jun_zhao3 😃

We started off with PM Agent which was the very first step in our agentic ecosystem, PM Agent integrates very well with Helix to build the best in class context for the project you will work on and enables Helix to make more better outputs. We are constantly working towards making this ecosystem better in terms of delivery and outcomes. More agents to go live sooner ultimately building a team which will enable builders build much better products!

🎉 Huge congrats Nijansh & OpenGig on launching Helix! As an product lead, I'm blown by your "PM Agent + Coding Agent" combo – planning user stories AND generating production-grade code? That's a game-changer for dev teams! 🤖✨
The autonomous file-reading feature is genius – no more manual context dumping! 🚀 Terminal integration and self-healing also make it 10x smarter than typical AI coders.

Quick idea: Could you add a "code diff viewer" in the VS Code extension? Visualizing AI's changes would boost team trust.

Nilesh Darji

@rocsheh Really appreciate it! 🙌
And yes, we already have a diff viewer built in! After every edit, Helix creates a checkpoint so you can review all code changes, compare diffs, and even restore to any previous state. Also after each task completed, it shows a full list of modified files with side-by-side diffs.

@shenjun Our main goal is to build a set of agents which has complete context of entire project and work togethet to give customized output. This coding agent also doesn't work standalone but talks to PM agent and get insight on which task has been done and which needs to be implemented and work based on that context.

Jun Shen

@abhilasha2 I really like the design of your product, Cursor's implementation is more like a coding Copilot Agent. I think your goal of designing it to be a collaborative form with agents is excellent; this is indeed the direction of the next generation.

Denzel Downs

Love how it handles the full dev cycle from generation to debugging.how does it enforce security/compliance standards in auto-generated code?

This looks game-changing for dev teams! Love the 'debug on its own' feature – does it integrate with existing CI/CD pipelines?

Pawan Raj Verma
Maker
Launching soon!

CI/CD pipelines are a whole different game @desmond_ren1, Helix is a goto choice to build and refactor quality code, its integration with PM Agent makes it unique. Our vision for agentic platform incorporates these considerations as well. We will release a separate DevOps Agent in some time which will make it more clear.

Abhilasha

@desmond_ren1 To debug it's own feature, we are planning to integrate browse support which can easily debug right from UI to API end to end feature.

Congrats on the launch, Nijansh! What’s the most surprising use case you have seen so far?

Pawan Raj Verma

@lakshya_singh the most fascinating thing for me was its ability to build something which I truly wanted it to build even though I knew nothing about the framework or code! What I did was just fed with some existing look-a-like code and it built exactly what I envisioned. Haven't seen this much of accuracy with any other existing agents.

@prv I am not into coding but I love exploring the tech. Will give it a try this weekend!

Congrats on the launch, Nijansh and Team OpenGig! 👏

Helix looks like a serious leap forward for AI-assisted development. Love the focus on production-grade apps — too many tools stop at prototypes. The combo of PM Agent + Coding Agent working together directly inside VS Code is super compelling. It feels less like just “AI help” and more like having a full-stack teammate who understands both the product vision and technical execution.

Hey@opengig_nijansh, Congrats on the Launch!

I want to know!!

How does Helix handle different programming languages, and can it integrate smoothly with existing development environments?

Pawan Raj Verma

Hey @roopreddy Helix leverages Anthropic’s Claude model under the hood, which means it’s highly adaptable and can work with any programming language or framework, no hard limitations.

Abhilasha

Ema Elisi

@opengig_nijansh How does Helix handle cross-file dependencies in complex codebases where a single change might ripple across modules? For example, if the Coding Agent updates a utility function, does the PM Agent proactively flag downstream impacts (e.g., broken tests or API contracts), or is there a separate “QA Agent” to validate system coherence? In other words, does the platform’s “self-healing” extend beyond local fixes to holistic project health?

Aryan Sharma

Added in my VS Code, let's see how it goes!

Yuliya Fomina

Congrats on the launch, Nijansh and team! 🎉

Love the ambition here—especially the combo of PM + Coding Agent. The "reads the file itself" bit caught my attention. Curious how Helix handles edge cases in large codebases where file dependencies aren’t straightforward—does it trace through import chains or rely on heuristics?

Pawan Raj Verma
Maker
Launching soon!

@yuliya_fomina Helix reads the entire codebase by analyzing file structure, parsing source code Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs), performing regex searches, and monitoring real-time errors, thus it understands and works within your project context.

Helix primarily traces through import chains using static analysis and project config resolution. For ambiguous cases, it uses heuristics like naming patterns, directory structure, and semantic clues. It also leverages LLMs to infer relationships when dependencies aren’t explicit.

Abhilasha
Maker
Launching soon!

@yuliya_fomina Yes Yuliya, it relies on imports (can be extract reliably for different Tech stack using ASTs) and can easily search relevant files it needs context for.

Rajesh Sharma

Helix is a fantastic extension that offers a wealth of features without being expensive. I'm constantly amazed by its ability to generate code precisely as I intend, especially when I provide specific instructions and examples. Its integration with Claude makes it even more powerful.

Arnold

This solves the biggest AI dev problem "context". Helix actually understands the repo and doesn’t just autocomplete code. That’s a game-changer!
