Really great idea @ewan_collinge ! The checkout process is the weakest point for most ecommerce platforms.
If you think outside of Instagram, I think it would be great if you could provide this type of checkout process for all kind of online stores. Almost like a Facebook login, that anyone could integrate to their platform (Log in with Facebook = Checkout with OneTap).
This could become THE checkout layer on top of every ecommerce platform.
Instagram just validated your idea by adding this new feature to their app :)

Upvoted you guys, despite the bad timing of the announcement from Instagram.
Why? It'd be nice if Instagram merchants has a choice when it comes to which checkout implementation they want to use.

Hi I'm Ewan, one of the founders of OneTap. It all started when I was on holiday with my girlfriend a few months back. She kept looking on Instagram to buy sunglasses. But every time she found some she liked she'd get redirected to a website with a really long checkout process. She could never be bothered to fill in all the details, so she'd always give up halfway through. Seemed like a wasted opportunity for the seller – and her!
So I thought up OneTap, a super simple Instagram checkout, which makes selling (and buying) stuff on Instagram so much easier. Think Shopify but a million times simpler to sell.
It is available for us to start using this OneTap? Because we in Malaysia still not available to try Instagram Checkout.
I'm down! IG will only roll it out for "big brands first", so I signed up. How can I demo it?
Just like the Oauth login, OneTap can be the one checkout solution for all stores.
