I’m a postdoctoral scientist @ King's College London - AMA about NatureBoost 🌿🧠
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychosis Studies at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London. My research focuses on how environmental factors — like nature, noise, air pollution, and heat — impact mental health, and how we can use smartphone technology to better understand and support wellbeing.
I’m here today as part of the team behind NatureBoost — a research-powered wellbeing study inside the Citizen Scientist app.
🌿 What is NatureBoost?
NatureBoost helps you track how time in nature impacts your mood, while gently nudging you to explore the outdoors in new and meaningful ways.
It’s grounded in scientific research, built for real-world use, and designed to help us better understand the connection between green spaces and emotional wellbeing.
📱 It’s free, privacy-focused, and open to anyone who wants to contribute to cutting-edge mental health research.
🧠 My research includes:
Using smartphones to explore how the natural, built and social environment impacts mental health.
Predicting outcomes in people in the early stages of psychosis (clinical high-risk / first episode) using mobile data.
Investigating the effects of road-traffic noise, air pollution, and extreme heat on mental health in the UK.
